Shopee, Southeast Asia and Taiwan’s eCommerce platform, has partnered with Nanyang Polytechnic’s Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS), to offer full-day eCommerce workshops.

Consisting of an on-boarding session and a marketing session, the workshops aims to provide participants with the necessary support to grow their businesses.

The on-boarding session provides new and current sellers with an overview of the eCommerce ecosystem, as well as tips on how to improve store performance and content creation. Meanwhile, the marketing session equips participants with branding, design and digital marketing skills that they can apply to optimize online store presence.

Through the workshop, participants will gain deeper insights into the eCommerce ecosystem, as well as hear from industry experts on best-in-class practices on content creation, revenue, logistics and sales management.

Junjie Zhou, chief commercial officer, Shopee said: “Keeping up with the fast-changing eCommerce landscape is no easy feat. At Shopee, we are committed to supporting our sellers and aspiring entrepreneurs by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to succeed. This partnership with SIRS has provided us with a platform to expand our reach and empower more SMEs to take their businesses to the next level.”

Megan Ong, director of Singapore Institute of Retail Studies added: “The Singapore government is consistently pushing for individuals and businesses to embrace technology and continuously upskill to remain relevant. Together with Shopee, a leader in the local eCommerce space, we aim to empower all participants with the essential knowledge for setting up a successful online store.”

SIRS is a Continuing Education and Training Centre appointed by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Supported by SSG, course fees will be subsidised for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents. Additionally, Singaporeans aged 25 and above can also use their SkillsFuture Credit to off-set the course fees.
