CIMB staff allowed up to a month’s paid leave for CSR projects

CIMB Foundation has announced a new policy, Flex4CSR, allowing any of CIMB Group’s staff in Malaysia to take up to month’s paid leave to support any of the Foundation’s projects.

In a statement, Dato’ Hamidah Naziadin, CEO of CIMB Foundation commented: “Flex4CSR, together with CIMB’s other CSR-related policies reflect our effort to further institutionalise the spirit of giving back to society and to truly bring to life the notion of corporate citizenship.”

CIMB Foundation is a non-profit organisation that was set up to implement CIMB Group’s corporate social responsibility and philanthropic initiatives.

At the unveiling of the Foundation’s new logo and tagline, Empowering Communities, Changing Lives, Flex4CSR was introduced along with another new policy entitling employees to a half-day leave for every ten hours they spend volunteering.

The two new policies are additions to Community Link, the Foundation’s CSR initiative, which encourages CIMB Group’s staff to bid for funding for CSR projects in their respective communities.

“CIMB Foundation’s top priority is to continue helping individuals and communities alike through capacity building so that they are able to fulfil their potential, and to give them a sense of purpose so that they can contribute to nation-building in their own unique way,” Dato’ Hamidah Naziadin concluded.
