HR Practitioner Appointments

Laurence Smith takes up role as chief talent and learning officer at Digital BillionsDigital Billions is a technology company with four arms: blockchain technology, venture capital investment, digital marketing and consulting. As the chief talent and learning officer based in Singapore, Smith has 26 years of HR experience, including 16 in Asia. His areas of expertise include developing leaders with a 'digital mindset', identifying how Asia-based organisations can develop global employee value propositions, and managing global corporate university networks. He was most recently managing director HR, group head of learning and talent development at DBS Bank.

UOB designates Li Lian Koh as HR business partner (FVP)  Based in Singapore, Li Lian Koh has joined United Overseas Bank (UOB) as HR business partner (FVP), moving over from National University of Singapore where she was associate director, office of human resources (resourcing). Prior to this, she has worked with Swiss Re on contract as Asia talent acquisition strategy manager, and with DBS Bank also on contract in talent acquisition.

Pharmaceutical giant Piramal accepts the resignation of global HR headAbhay Srivastava, previously the senior VP and global HR head, Piramal's pharma solutions business, has joined Cipla as head HR - techops, as reported by HRKatha, based in India. His prior experience includes a long tenure at Dr Reddy's Laboratories, as well as a director with the Indian government.

Nadiah Tan Abdullah adds real estate experience to her plateReal estate developer SP Setia has recruited Nadiah Tan Abdullah as the divisional general manager for group HR, based in Setia Alam, Malaysia. She moves over from Experian, where she was Experian GDC Malaysia -human resources director and HRBP lead global technology services APAC.

Travis Yeo exits Lintec Singapore after seven-month tenureSingapore-based Travis Yeo has left his role at semi-conductor company, Lintec Singapore, where he was senior HR executive, looking after HR operational duties and projects for ASEAN. He has now forayed into a new venture as HR lead.

Ministry of Education, Singapore (MOE) brings on board Clarence ChangClarence Chang has moved out from the human resources function, where he was previously senior vice president for employee engagement and communications at GIC, to Singapore's MOE, where he is divisional director of communications. His previous role provided him with extensive exposure to HR, having coordinated internal engagement and communications strategies for a 1,300-strong global organisation, including climate surveys, orientation programmes, and courses on values.

Anita (Anandajayasekeram) Fleming moves up the ranks at ANZHaving been with the Australia-based bank since July 2010, Anita Fleming has undertaken a number of key roles, most recently as head of culture, leadership, learning and performance. Based in Melbourne, she has just been promoted to executive manager of group strategy.

Fong Tuan Chen joins B Braun’s Asia Pacific HR teamThe German MNC specialising in medical device technologies has chosen Fong Tuan Chen for the role of director, human resources, based in Malaysia. He is responsible for organisational design, resourcing of strategic talent, bench strength and succession management, acceleration of leadership effectiveness, talent engagement and retention, employer branding and diversity initiatives for B Braun Asia Pacific. As a member of HR senior leadership team, his portfolio also covers all strategic HR initiatives which include total rewards, performance management, HR automation, and more. Read more

Poonam Manoj Kumar opts for recruitment role at HSBCKumar has been appointed by the financial services firm as recruitment relationship manager. Based in Kuala Lumpur, she was previously with Randstad Sourceright APAC Sourcing Centre as sourcing specialist, where she was responsible for executing the sourcing methodology known as Total Talent Sourcing Methodology (TTSM) based on active sourcing for passive candidates.  She also has experience working in Lwee Management as a tax assistant cum secretary.

Suria KLCC selects Yoogesweran Ganasan as HR executive in Kuala LumpurReal estate firm Suria KLCC has appointed Yoogesweran Ganasan as HR executive, moving away from his role as senior HR executive at Sea Hawk Global Lines, while based in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this, he has experience with ManpowerGroup as HR service delivery consultant and with Emerio as HRBP.

WeMedia01 singles out Ray Hui as senior HR officerOnline advertising agency WeMedia01 has appointed Ray Hui as senior HR officer based in Hong Kong, moving over from Peoplebank as senior recruitment consultant. Prior to that, Hui has experience as recruitment consultant at Adecco Group, GrammyTech and Asiahub Hong Kong.

Financial services major successfully scouts for global mobility consultantFIS has appointed Patricia Mae Clarino to the role of global mobility consultant, based in Singapore. she was previously senior immigration advisor at Berry Appleman & Leiden, and prior to that had a similar immigration role at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy.

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Julie Yeap takes up adult education role at IAL SingaporeHaving been in the consulting sector since August 2001 with EY, Julie Yeap has made a move to the education sector, joining Institute for Adult Learning (IAL) in Singapore as adjunct adult educator. In this role, she is responsible for facilitating and developing training materials for the WSQ advanced certificate in training and assessment (ACTA version 5). 

In this new role, Yeap is focused on facilitating the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA), she told Human Resources. "This requires me to utilise my 10 years of learning and development experience from EY to train people from different industries to become competent trainers and assessors. Other than my work at IAL, I am also an organisational coach and my role is to help individuals and teams enhance their performance, increase engagement and improve effectiveness."

HRBP Consulting appoints Tina Mahtani as senior HR business partnerMahtani has joining the Hong Kong-based consulting firm in the role of senior HR business partner, where she is shuttling between Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. She moves from YuuZoo Corporation, where she was head of HR for a nine-month tenure.

Vincere Xiaoyun Zeng joins SAP Ariba as regional senior consultantZeng has commenced a new role with software solutions provider SAP, as CES senior consultant (in-house consulting/project managing), APJ and Greater China, in a role based out of Singapore. She moves on from Ambition (Asia), where she was consultant - technology.

Speaking with Human Resources, she said Ariba is growing its footprint in Asia Pacific and the team are undergoing a transformation. "My role is to address internal issues on a strategic level and run internal projects across the region during the transformation, and to achieve better business results," she said.

Her priority for 2017 is on the Release Readiness programme and innovation delivery for this region, as well as functional capability assessment and training. Meanwhile, she is also involved in projects with partner sourcing.

Having worked in SAP in a previous assignment, he decided to rejoin the firm, crediting its "clear direction and excellent working culture." She adds: "The role itself provides me with regional exposure and autonomy, which is also attractive to me."

Salt appoints Carlito Jon Sales as consultant - technologyCarlito Jon Sales has been hired as consultant - technology at Salt, which specialises in recruitment for the digital, marketing and creative industries, based in Singapore. He has more than 10 years of recruitment experience, most recently working with GECO Group as client engagement manager.

CXA strengthens team regional client management team with ex-Mercer hireMichelle Lee has been appointed director of regional client relations at health and wellness exchange CXA, based in Singapore. Lee was most recently with Mercer as director, prior to which she has experience with Insurope as regional director, Aon Hewitt as manager, and Willis Towers Watson as client manager, among others.

FlightLeaders.com secures the support of Seamus Phan as corporate trainerThe provider of training for airlines and aviation companies, FlightLeaders.com, has secured Seamus Phan as corporate trainer, joining Capt. Michael Caston in developing the company's custom programmes. The team's priority is to provide leadership training for aviation, interactive video and role-play customised training, and corporate leadership programmes based on flightdeck experiences. Phan continues to undertake the role of creative director and head of training at McGallen & Bolden Group, which he co-founded.

Phan said FlightLeaders.com is based on unique leadership secrets from ancient Asia, such as the Analects, Three Kingdoms, Hagakure, and Gorinosho. "The customised and interactive video training programmes lead pilots with thought-provoking decision making, crisis management, and leadership perspectives," he told Human Resources. There are versions for non-aviation industries too, where leaders are taken into a flight simulator to teach crisis preparedness and communication skills.

Ni Ying Lee commences new role with HRnet OneHaving joining the HR consulting firm in August 2014 as associate consultant, Ni Ying Lee has been promoted to regional consultant, continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur. She brings with her prior HR experience, having held the roles of HR officer at CMA CGM Malaysia and HR assistant at Jaya One.

Arif Khan pursues senior client relationship responsibility with LinkedInIn a promotion up from his role as relationship manager - emerging markets with LinkedIn, Arif Khan is now senior relationship manager at the social network, managing a portfolio of clients that include global and homegrown brands in Malaysia and Singapore, whilst based in Singapore. A significant portion of his work centres around enabling the shift to digital and platform-based thinking for clients, and he was presented with the Leverage & Leadership Award for H1 2016 for his work. Khan's prior work experience includes stints at Talent2, Robert Walters, and Singapore Management University.

Alexander Mann Solutions boosts career growth for Evelyn GohEvelyn Goh has been scouted by the staffing firm as principal resource specialist (fintech), where she is managing onsite recruiting for Deutsche Bank's COO technology function. Continuing to be based in Singapore, she was previously with international education provider Study Group as talent acquisition consultant for Asia Pacific.

Hang Pham is managing consultant at First AlliancesHaving worked in Vietnam since January 2016 after moving from Singapore, Hang Pham has moved from her role as customer relationship officer at FPT Software to managing consultant - accounting and finance at recruiter First Alliances. Whilst in Singapore, she has previously worked with Gartner as account director and Alphabet Media as conference producer.

Lincoln Pan moves out from Willis Towers Watson as head of Greater ChinaHaving been with Willis Towers Watson since December 2013, most recently as head of Greater China and chief executive officer, Lincoln Pan has opted for a new role with investment management firm Pacific Alliance Group, while continuing to be based in Shanghai.

Pan spoke to Human Resources about his decision: "Willis Towers Watson is a tremendous company and they are positively moving toward integrating the many capabilities now in the organisation. I truly valued the high quality individuals I had the opportunity to call colleagues the past three years at Willis and the last year at Willis Towers Watson."

"My decision to leave was simply because I received a fabulous opportunity with the alternative investment fund PAG Asia Capital. My role will be in their operations team helping lead management of their growing portfolio of assets around the world and driving their growth."

Gunnar Jaschik has joined Korn Ferry Hay Group as territory PMO leader After stints with Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan and KPMG, Gunnar Jaschik has joined Korn Ferry Hay Group as ASEAN territory PMO leader. Based in Singapore, he is growing and leading a programme management function focusing on high quality delivery of all Korn Ferry Hay Group offerings in Singapore before expanding across the ASEAN territory.

Recruitment and HR services firm appoints Elize Tai in sales and marketingRandstad Hong Kong has selected Elize Tai as principal consultant - sales and marketing in Hong Kong, promoting her from the previous role of senior consultant - sales and marketing. Under Randstad Hong Kong's luxury, retail and consumer division, she focuses on middle to senior level sales and marketing positions. She was recently presented the Consultant of the Quarter award in Q3 2015.

She spoke to Human Resources on her priority in the new role: "Establish myself as a leading recruiter within my field and keep gaining credibility in the market." she has already embarked on projects such as Randstad award in March, and Randstad and Linkedin Employer Branding workshop in November.

Einnar Rodriguez takes up senior role at Randstad Sourceright APAC Sourcing CentreRPO provider Randstad Sourceright APAC Sourcing Centre has moved Einnar Rodriguez up the ranks, from recruitment operations manager to associate director, based in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to moving to Malaysia in July 2013, he was team manager at [24]7 Customer Inc. Philippines.

Drake International moves to hire Ray Cheung for talent managementHaving been in the HR industry since 2000, Ray Cheung is now consultant - talent management and development, at talent solutions provider Drake International. He continues to be based in Hong Kong, and his past roles have included tenures at Cathay Pacific Airways, Hang Seng Bank, and AIA.

SkillsFuture Singapore picks Soon Joo Gog for research roleSoon Joo Gog, co-founder of Oxford Change Associates, has been appointed by Singapore's learning movement, SkillsFuture as group director of training partners group and chief research officer, based in Singapore. She has previously undertaken similarly senior roles at Singapore Workforce Development Agency and Institute for Adult Learning, in addition to a number of publications to her credit.

Azrul Mukhriz Abdul Manaf takes up role at The iA GroupWith interests in consulting, talent management and technology, The iA Group has scouted Azrul Mukhriz Abdul Manaf as HR business partner, responsible as the HR liaison between the PMO and GHRA. Previously, he was freelance HR consultant with Laila Fabrik.

FranklinCovey Hong Kong designates Sharon V Lui as principal consultant Based in Hong Kong, Sharon V Lui has performance consulting firm FranklinCovey Hong Kong as principal consultant. She was previously with Right Management in the same capacity, and prior to that with Nova Consulting as director.

Hiro Takeda founds executive coaching and talent firm in JapanTakeda & Partners has been established by Hiro Takeda, as an executive coaching and talent management consulting firm. Takeda has more than 30 years of experience in the field, having most recently been partner at Egon Zehnder's Tokyo office. In his independent venture, he focuses on executive coaching and other leadership development programmes, while based in Tokyo, he told Human Resources. He is certified for immunity-to-change coaching by Robert Kegan and Gallup strength coaching.
