With nearly two decades of experience in employee benefits, Gaurav steps into a global role that spans key APAC markets including Singapore, Australia, and India.
Gaurav Gupta has taken on a new role as Director of Global Benefits and Wellbeing at Freshworks, moving on from his previous position as APAC Benefits Leader at Amazon.
Continuing to be based in Bengaluru, India, as part of his role within overall Freshworks Global Benefits team, Gaurav will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of benefits strategies across key regions with APAC focus being across Singapore, Australia, and India.
Gaurav brings with him over 18 years of experience in the employee benefits sector. Prior to joining Freshworks, he led Amazon’s benefits design and delivery strategies across APAC region, including managing programmes in line with evolving legislative landscapes while ensuring compliance across multiple countries.
During his tenure, he led the introduction of Amazon’s first-ever flexible benefits programme globally, launched in India. He also oversaw a geographically dispersed team of benefits professionals and delivered large-scale projects focused on sustainable programme evolution and continued enhancement of choice based benefits along with employee experience across various benefit touchpoints.
Speaking to HRO about his focus at Freshworks, Gaurav shared that his core priority will be to drive and evolve key benefits programmes (either existing or new) leveraging feasible innovative benefits solutions with long term sustainability approach while ensuring positive experience for employees when they utilise benefits programmes.
He added: "We will also actively engage in driving positive employee engagement benefits programmes while aiming for right level of awareness across benefits programmes enabling employees and their eligible dependents/household members to have right access to benefits programmes based on varied needs of diverse multi-generational workforce.”
