Expect traffic disruptions near KLCC ahead of ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting from 8-11 July

Starting 4 July, the traffic measures will cover a one-kilometre radius around Kuala Lumpur City Centre, as well as main roads and highways leading into the capital.

Employees commuting to or through the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) may face delays in the coming days, as traffic rerouting measures disruption are expected to be in place ahead of the meeting.

According to a report by Utusan Malaysia, shared on the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) Facebook page, traffic disruptions will begin on 4 July 2025 (Friday), in conjunction with the 58th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, which will take place from 8 to 11 July at KLCC.

Wisma Putra has said that the traffic measures will cover a one-kilometre radius around KLCC, as well as main roads and highways leading into the capital. These steps are being taken to facilitate the smooth running of the meetings and to ensure the safety of foreign delegations attending.

While details on specific road closures are still forthcoming, PDRM is expected to release updates on affected routes and certain road closures.

Wisma Putra has apologised for any inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and cooperation.

As host of the high-profile regional meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the smooth organisation of the event, while prioritising the wellbeing of the public. Malaysia, as the Chair of ASEAN 2025, had earlier hosted the ASEAN Summit 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on 6 and 7 May.
