GroupM Singapore’s executive leadership team has selected seven high-potentials to team up as a cross-agency community, as part of an accelerated development programme.
This team, called eMpower, will work hand with the company’s leadership team, to focus on “enhancing GroupM’s internal collaboration and workplace culture,” said a statement.
Gareth Ling, GroupM’s chief talent officer and sponsor of the eMpower team, explained, “The structure of this programme enables our high potential talent to experience first-hand the challenges and demands of managing our business, allowing a channel for fresh insights and perspective.”
“Being partnered from the start with an executive mentor will accelerate their development and equip them with the necessary skills for leadership positions in the future,” he added.
The team will get access to a host of development opportunities, such as working on business projects and presenting the outcome to the executive committee, as well as workshops and networking opportunities with key senior stakeholders.
To start with, the new team organised a Walkathon for 600 staffers, in aid of GroupM Singapore’s Power of One event, that doubled up as a fund-raiser for Singapore Red Cross.
Commented Jon Thurlow, GroupM Singapore’s CEO, “Congratulations to the Singapore eMpower 2015 team, and the entire Executive Committee looks forward mentoring these key talent for the benefit of them and the agencies, to building stronger relationships with all our clients and media partners, and grow our business together with them in Singapore.”
