Human Resources magazine’s Benefits Asia 2013 concluded yesterday with an awards show to honour and recognise organisations in the region for their outstanding compensation, benefits and rewards practices.
Compensation and benefits (C&B) and HR professionals from across Asia Pacific were brought together for the two -day conference at Sheraton Towers in Singapore, sharing their insights via multiple presentations and panel discussions.
At the conclusion of the conference, HR leaders and professionals gathered to find out who would take home the 15 trophies across seven categories, as well as the coveted individual award of C&B Specialist of the Year.
The awards were judged by a panel of senior HR professionals from around the region, including Cliff Taylor of Mead Johnson Nutrition, Kenneth J. Kominski of COMO Hotels and Resorts, Susana Garcia Bernal of NBCUniversal International, DHL Express’s Jeremy Caird, and Expedia’s Rajesh Rai.
The categories included Best in Employee Career Development, Best in Flexible Benefits Scheme, and Best in Non-Cash Rewards Programmes.
The awards were presented by editor Rebecca Lewis and deputy editor Sabrina Zolkifi of Human Resources magazine.
The biggest winners of the evening were Unilever Asia and STMicroelectronics, who each took home two winning trophies – Unilever for Best in Healthcare and Well-Being Programmes and Innovation in Compensation and Benefits Programmes, and STMicroelectronics for Best in Employee Benefits Communications and Best in Benefits Technology & Administration Processes.
Other winners included Raffles Institution for the Best in Flexible Benefits award, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts for Best in Employee Career Development, and Universal McCann Malaysia for Best in Non-Cash Rewards.
Lilach Sela, VP of global C&B at Amdocs, presented the final and only individual award of the evening for C&B Specialist of the Year to Rei Ho, Manulife Financial’s senior manager for investment compensation in HR.
