HR job moves of the week from L'Oréal, Hong Kong Air Cargo, Robert Walters

HR Practitioner Appointments

Louisa Chiu moves up the ranks at L'Oréal as associate HR directorTenured at L'Oréal since 2012 in Hong Kong, Louisa Chiu is now associate HR director, up from HR manager - luxe and retail. She’s a retail sector long-timer, having worked in H&M as area HR manager, and in Louis Vuitton as retail operations management trainee.

Crystal Li accepts new role as senior HR generalist at ULHaving been part of safety testing and certification firm UL since August 2014 as HR generalist, Crystal Li has been promoted to senior HR generalist, based in Hong Kong. Previously, she was with The Sincere Company as HR assistant, and has also taken up a part-time sales role at Pink Martini.

Tina Tian takes up new role at Hong Kong Air CargoTenured with Hong Kong Airlines since November 2006 in a number of roles, most recently as deputy director - HR and administration, Tina Tian is now assistant CEO cum director of HR and administration at Hong Kong Air Cargo. She continues to be based in Hong Kong.

Jovi Chong takes up senior role at Hong Kong DisneylandWorking at the entertainment destination since March 2008, Jovi Chong has been promoted from associate manager, HR services, to manager, HR services. She started off at Hong Kong Disneyland as associate specialist, HR, and has worked with Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong in the past.

Tom To gets an elevated position at Marco Polo Hotels GroupA wholly owned subsidiary of The Wharf (Holdings), Marco Polo Hotels has appointed Tom To the assistant HR officer, up from HR assistant. He continues to be based in Hong Kong. He has prior hospitality sector experience, having worked at Crowne Plaza Hong Kong in 2015.

Stevenson Chan appointed HR specialist at TAL Apparel For his new role as corporate human capital management services specialist, Stevenson Chan as been promoted from executive. He has been with the apparel manufacturer since December 2014, before which he was HR officer at Shiseido Hong Kong.

Mike Fong joins The Langham Hotels and Resorts as L&D managerAs learning and development manager, Mike Fong's role with the luxury hotelier marks his move away from Marriott Hotels, where he was training manager, still based in Hong Kong. He will focus on planning and implementing talent development in his new role in The Langham Hong Kong.

"The key drive is also to foster hotel service at recognised luxury standards. Previously, I was training manager of HK SkyCity Marriott Hotel for 2.5 years, serving as rebranding coach in brand culture change at property level and a key Marriott trainer in HK," he shared with Human Resources.

He has worked in a number of hotel-sector HR roles previously, such as with Marco Polo Hotels, Harbour Plaza Hotels & Resourts, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, and more.

Dianne Wong to lead HR at Hogarth Worldwide Marketing implementation agency Hogarth Worldwide has appointed Dianne Wong as the head of HR, based in Singapore. She moves from Sidley Austin, where she was office manager. She has previously worked in HR roles at KT&T Group of Companies, Rajah & Tann, and more.

The Kowloon Dairy welcomes HR manager, June YauJune Yau is joining dairy producer, The Kowloon Dairy, as HR manager, based in Hong Kong. She comes from Wallem Group, where she was HR manager, and her past experience includes a 5-year tenure at Fifth & Pacific Companies as regional HR and admin manager, Asia.

Wen Fung is appointed to HR officer at Hongkong International TerminalsPort and logistics operator Hongkong International Terminals has recruited Wen Fung as HR officer, based in Hong. She departs from CITIC Pacific, where she was assistant officer HR, having been promoted from HR assistant when she joined.

Build King Holdings hires Wales Law as senior HR officerHaving been with Aramex previously as HR and training team leader, Wales Law is now senior HR officer at construction firm, Build King Holdings. While continuing to be based in Hong Kong, his past portfolio comprises stints at S.F. Express Group, HKQAA, and more.

Speaking exclusively to Human Resources, he said: "My priorities in the coming year will be focusing on e-learning development and leadership facilitation, and some management workshops."

Pixels bags Novia Chiu as manager, talentNovia Chiu joins Pixels in Hong Kong as manager, talent, after a one-and-a-half-year tenure at Yahoo! as recruiter, talent acquisition. She was previously recruiter, talent acquisition for Asia Pacific at ARRIS, and has also worked with AGS Group in the executive search space.

Jacklyn Ng gets a senior position at Rebel Fighting Championship A 12-year veteran in HR, with roles in Johnson & Johnson and Schneider Electric previously, Jacklyn Ng, GMS has moved to Rebel Fighting Championship as head of people. In this capacity, she is based in Singapore, and responsible for strategic and operational HR.

Lim Kavin departs from BAT, joins Hong Leong BankPreviously head of employee relations and service centre at British American Tobacco, Lim Kavin has exited. While continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur, he is now head of industrial relations at Hong Leong Bank. Previously, he was worked with OCBC Bank and Murugavell Arumugam & Co.


HR Solutions Provider Appointments

AchieveForum strengthens commitment to APAC with leadership appointmentAndrew Calvert has been appointed as managing director for Asia Pacific, after The Forum Corporation and the leadership division of AchieveGlobal, Inc., came together earlier this year. Calvert previously served as the director of sales operations of Miller Heiman Group, and brings nearly 20 years of customer service, leadership, sales and training experience in Hong Kong, Singapore and the US.

Russ Becker, CEO of AchieveForum commented, “With extensive experience in leading major product launches, as well as managing the expansion of offices into Greater China and Singapore, Andrew is well-positioned to lead our organisation in the Asia Pacific region.” Calvert will be based in AchieveForum’s Singapore office, and will report directly to the CEO.

AchieveForum, formed earlier this year, brings together the Forum Corporation and the leadership division of AchieveGlobal to deliver a comprehensive global leadership development offering, designed to serve the entire leadership continuum and yield improved business performance.

Adrian Ma announces move to RSAP International as MDA specialised executive search firm for the HR function, RSAP International welcomes new managing director, Adrian Ma, based in Hong Kong. He moves over from RPO Global, where he was consultant, prior to which he was with Career International, also in an executive search capacity.

Jane So takes up recruitment responsibility at Robert WaltersMoving from The Adecco Group to Robert Walters, Jane So is recruitment consultant for transactional services, within IT and technology sectors. Her experience includes a stint as recruitment agency Global Talent Services as researcher.

Matthew Collier appointed as managing partner at Sentient HR GroupJoining the Vietnam-based assessment, coaching and outplacement firm is Matthew Collier as managing partner, based in Ho Chi Minh city. "Our immediate priority is to work with our partners to deliver development services that have a positive impact on teams and individuals across the Indochina region," he told Human Resources, in an email interview. "We are hugely excited to be using the MTQ48 mental toughness assessment that gives us a highly respected tool to work with our clients in building resilience in workforce," he added. The team will soon announce a partnership with a global leader in the provision of leadership training, alongside this it will promote its executive, team and career coaching services and pioneering outplacement / career transition as an additional tool in the HR 'kit bag'.

Collier moves over from Gemini Personnel where he was group head of HR consulting services, based in Hong Kong. He will now primarily be based in Ho Chi Minh City (Sentient also has offices in Hanoi and a partner operation in Bangkok). "As we go through the initial product launch phase, Vietnam provides us with a fast moving, exciting and enthusiastic marketplace to deliver development products and partner clients to build their human capital," he shared.

Collier has worked with Sentient HR Solutions in a previous capacity as partner between 2009 and 2012. In fact, in this new role, he will be running the business but will work alongside a number of partners.

Willis Towers Watson hires James Leung to drive health and benefits servicesThe advisory and broking company has appointed James Leung as regional director, business development and proposition, health and benefits, Asia and Australasia. He is responsible for developing regional client relationships, formulating health and benefits solutions, providing benefits management services for clients regionally, while addressing the needs of their local country operations.

Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Cedric Luah, head of health and benefits, Asia and Australasia, who commented: "We are confident his rich experience will add to our capability in supporting our clients in today’s sophisticated benefits environment, where employers face growing pressure to provide effective and sustainable benefits programmes.”

Before joining Willis Towers Watson, Leung has held various leadership roles with insurers, international benefits consultants and brokers.

BTI Consultants Joins Career Partners International GroupLeadership consulting firm BTI Consultants has announced its regional partnership with outplacement consultant Career Partners International (CPI), whereby BTI Consultants has been appointed CPI’s local market expert across Asia, including in Malaysia, Indonesia, India and South Korea.
