Singaporeans may be able to receive free access to certain premium AI tools via eligible training programmes

The initiative aims to raise the overall level of AI literacy in Singapore's workforce and giving workers greater confidence to face the AI transformation of the economy and jobs.

The Government will provide free subscriptions to selected premium AI tools to Singaporeans who participate in eligible training programmes, said the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in a parliamentary query on 7 May 2026.

According to MOM, the subscriptions will enable participants to experiment with AI tools and explore how they can be integrated into their daily work and lives. The move supports a wider effort to improve AI literacy across the workforce, while helping workers build confidence in applying AI as jobs and the economy evolve.

MOM said the government will assess the scheme through indicators relating to AI usage and attitudes. These include the overall take-up of subscriptions, usage patterns and whether users continue engaging with the tools during the six-month complimentary access period and afterwards.

The ministry added that it may also conduct periodic surveys to gauge users’ confidence and perceived ability to apply AI at work. These findings will help the Government understand whether access to the subscriptions has supported practical workplace use.

The Training Quality and Outcomes Measurement (TRAQOM) survey will also apply to the curated AI courses that participants must complete before receiving a subscription, as these courses are funded by SkillsFuture Singapore.
