Agenda locked in for this year's Total Rewards Asia Summit in Malaysia: Here's a sneak peek

The future of rewards is no longer about spreadsheets. We invite you to join us at Total Rewards Asia Summit 2026, Malaysia to explore how total rewards strategies can deliver greater business value and employee impact.

After months of planning and finetuning, Human Resources Online has unveiled the full agenda for Total Rewards Asia Summit 2026, Malaysia, the 12th edition of our trusted, research-backed platform for CHROs and rewards leaders.

Taking place on 22-23 July 2026 at Courtyard by Marriott Kuala Lumpur, the two-day event has been built around one central question: How can we redesign our rewards strategies for greater value and impact?

We have a total of 29 speakers now confirmed across the agenda, covering everything from the future of workplace wellbeing, and building meaningful data-drive strategies, to talent-drive market strategies, and managing employee terminations with care.

Opening the conference on day one is Shell Malaysia's VP HR, Shell Business Operations (SBO), Shazmi Ali, who will challenge the long-held tradition that total rewards (TR) leaders remain focused on producing data rather than shaping the strategic conversations around workforce planning.

Drawing on his experience overseeing HR strategies for 30% of Shell’s workforce (30,000+ employees including contractors) across international hubs in Asia and Europe, Shazmi will examine how TR leaders can move into a space where they translate rewards insights into decisions that drive business outcomes.

The completed agenda also introduces several other experienced speakers, including Anjan Varma, Total Rewards Associate Director – South East Asia, Australia & New Zealan, BD, who will be running a mini-workshop on day two of the conference on "Scarcity, premiums, and pay".

Varma is someone who sees total rewards as a strategic enabler that goes beyond technical design to shape business priorities, helping organisations across diverse and evolving markets navigate complexity while balancing cost, culture, and capability for sustainable performance.

In his interactive facilitated session, conference participants will be divided into small groups to explore key discussion questions such as:

- What factors should determine whether a role truly warrants a scarcity premium, and when is demand simply driven by short-term market trends?
- Making reward decisions when market data is limited or unavailable for emerging and niche roles.
- Striking the right balance between remaining competitive in the market while maintaining internal equity and employee trust.
- When do recurring premiums point to broader talent, sourcing or workforce strategy challenges?

Joining the lineup, we also have Laavenia Ramasegar, Head of Wellbeing, CelcomDigi, whose keynote explores how to translate a wellbeing philosophy into structured programmes, policies, and leadership accountability.

Another must-attend session will be by Li Chiang Sia, Regional Performance & Rewards Manager, Southeast Asia, KONE, who will unpack why seemingly rational reward trade-offs can create unintended outcomes across culture, engagement and workforce performance; while Ernee Yuni, Head, Leadership and Talent Management, Malaysia Aviation Group, joins us on day two to affirm that constantly reacting to the market is neither practical nor sustainable.

The programme also features speakers from B.Braun, DKSH, Dutch Lady Malaysia Industries, GE Aerospace, KWAP, Omnicom Media, and more, reflecting the conference's focus on practical growth strategies.

Additional details can be found on the official website.
