HR practitioner appointments

New VP at UOB Centre of ExcellenceJo Wen Lee was promoted to vice president - human resources & training at UOB Centre of Excellence in March. She was promoted from assistant vice president - human resources & training, a position she had held since 2013 when she joined the company. She is based in Malaysia.

HKBN promotes new head of talent engagement & corporate social investmentCY Chan associate director, talent engagement & organisation development, co-owner moved up to the role in April.  He has more than 15 years of experience in talent and leader development. Chan joined Hong Kong Broadband Networks (HKBN) in 2011 as talent manager.  He is based in Hong Kong.

RHB Bank strengthens HR teamFarhan Fauzi joined the bank as HRBP - HR International in March.  His previous appointment was with the human capital division at DRB-HICOM Group.  He is based in Malaysia.

Desmond Clement Nathan joins Digi TelecommunicationsNathan was appointed talent resourcing expert at Digi Telecommunications in March.  In the new role, he will be focusing on revitalising talents for the company.   Previously, he was a talent mapping & recruitment specialist at Flex. He is based in Malaysia.

New HR business partner at LenovoEllis Yap was appointed HR business partner at Lenovo in April.  Prior to Lenovo, she served for more than six years in the human resources department of Hewlett Packard.  Her last potion with Hewlett Packard was country human resources leader. She is based in Malaysia.

Idearium Global appoints office managerChien Shin Koh joined Idearium Global in April as office manager.  In the new role, she will focus on building and implementing HR and supporting the operations within the organisation.  Prior to Idearium Global, she was a HR consultant at Quintiq.  She is based in Malaysia.

Booking.com enhances hiring teamCharlene Qian Xing joined Booking.com as a commercial recruiter in March.  She has served in the recruitment sector since 2012, her last position was recruitment consultant at Korn Ferry Futurestep.  She is based in Shanghai.

HR solutions provider appointments

Leadership changes at AIAJacky Chan currently CEO of AIA Hong Kong and Macau, will replace Gordon Watson as regional chief executive as Watson has decided to leave the company to pursue other interests.

Chan will be responsible for AIA’s operations in Hong Kong and Macau, Singapore and Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia as well as group agency distribution effective from 1 June 2017.

He has been with AIA for 29 years and has been CEO of AIA Hong Kong and Macau since 2009.

John Cai, currently CEO of AIA China, will be appointed as regional chief executive responsible for the insurer’s operations in China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan and Myanmar. He has been CEO of AIA China since 2009.

Meanwhile, Ng Keng Hooi will take up his new role as AIA's group chief executive effective from 1 June 2017.

New team leader at AdeccoKuvendran Vyanan Hari Vyanan was appointed in April as a team leader at Adecco.  He will be managing a team in the engineering sector, bringing in business and distributing job orders to the team.  He came over from VHR Consultancy where he was a consulting manager.  He is based in Malaysia.

Marcus Chen joins Iconic Training Solution Chen was appointed entrepreneur of learning advisor at Iconic Training Solution in April.  He came over from Training Asia where he was a senior learning specialist.  He is based in Malaysia.

Malaysian Technology Development Corporation promotes HR managerMawar Murni Muhammad was appointed manager at human resource development in April.  He had been with the corporation since 2000. He is based in Malaysia.

Fleur Daniell to head Singapore office for Charlotte FrankFleur Daniell has been appointed as director, Asia Pacific, for Charlotte Frank. Working alongside Helen Corke, founder and managing director APAC, in building the brand and driving the growth of the business across the region, Fleur brings with her more than 12 years’ of business support and secretarial recruitment experience from the Asia Pacific and London markets.

Promotions at MercerVidisha Mehta was promoted in April to senior principal & talent strategy practice leader - Asia.  She had been with Mercer since 2008 and was promoted from principal & talent strategy practice leader - Asia. She is based in Singapore.

Joshua Lum moved up from client relationship manager to senior client relationship manager in April.  Based in Singapore, he had been with Mercer since 2014.

Thaya Wichayathian was promoted to Principal M & A transaction services, Asia at Mercer in April.  Based in Thailand, she joined Mercer in 2005 and was promoted from the role as M & A consultant.

Positive Performance Consulting welcomes new consultantMei Chang joined Positive Performance Consulting as senior consultant in February.  Previously she was the consultant director at FCF Investment Holding Co. Ltd.  She is based in Singapore.

New appointments at CEBJoan Ong was promoted to commercial director, Southeast Asia at CEB Talent Assessment (formerly known as SHL) in April. He joined the organisation in 2010 as business development director.  He is based in Singapore.

William Man was promoted in April to senior business development manager at CEB Talent Assessment.  He had been with CEB since 2014 and was promoted from business development manager. He is based in Hong Kong.

Randstad hires new senior consultantRoy Seah joined Randstad in April as a senior consultant.  In his new role, he will focus on recruiting for the HR function, specialising in mid - senior level placements. He came over from Spring Professional where he was a senior consultant for the human resources sector. He is based in Singapore.

Promotion at TMP WorldwideVarun Kumta was promoted in March to account director at TMP Worldwide.  He joined the company in 2015 as an account manager.  Prior to TMP Worldwide, he was a media specialist at Ink Global. He is based in Singapore.

New appointment at World FirstPsyche Tian joined World First as talent acquisition manager - Asia in April.  Her previous appointment was senior consultant- Greater China at Cogs Agency.  She had been in the recruitment sector since 2010. She is based in Hong Kong.

Korn Ferry Futurestep promotes client directorNorman Lianzhe Zhou took up the role in March.  He had been with Korn Ferry Futurestep since 2008, starting out as a client solution leader.  He is based in Shanghai.

New hire at Crown Worldwide GroupLinea Dawn Agas joined the company in April as mobility consultant.   She will be responsible for coordinating a portfolio of relocating employees and their families, assisting them to manage the entire relocation and assignment process.  Previously, she was a talent acquisition specialist at MINIONSOLUTIONS Inc.  She is based in the Philippines.
