HR Practitioner Appointments

Liza takes up role as regional recruitment advisor at ArcadisIn a promotion from regional assistant, recruitment and resourcing - Asia at architectural design consultancy Arcadis, Liza is now regional recruitment advisor - Asia, based in Singapore. Prior to joining the firm in Aug 2013 (through EC Harris), she was in executive search at Talent2.

About her new role, Liza says there will be more focus in bringing strategic talent to the business by working collaboratively with counterparts from the region. "I would add, it is vital that we need to be informed on what is happening in the market as information is key to the business," she explained.

At Arcadis, there are currently a few projects around streamlining processes and managing people's expectations that Liza is working on with the rest of the team.

Pauline Foong takes up new role at Firmenich in SingaporePreviously global mobility specialist at the largest privately-owned company in the perfume and flavour business, Pauline Foong has transitioned as HR manager, global mobility at Firmenich in Singapore. She has been with the company since 2013, and has previously worked with organisations such as BlackBerry, Cartus, and TNT Express Worldwide.

Pearl Yeo adds HR experience to her plateAutomotive group Cycle & Carriage has recruited Pearl Yeo as HR executive, based in Singapore. This is a newly created role that will eventually be mainly focused on learning and development but will also be involved with employee engagement projects. "One of my priorities right now will be assisting my senior manager (Jeslin) in preparing for our annual town hall and for our leadership programmes," she told Human Resources.

She moves over from Singapore Institute of Technology, where she was HR executive (L&D/C&B). She also has experience working with Mondelēz International and NTUC Income, among others.

Aiza Marie Rivera exits admin and HR role at Fibre SortingPhilippines-based Aiza Marie Rivera has relocated to Singapore as an administrative assistant in an international organisation. She leaves her past role as administration and HR head at Fibre Sorting, where she implemented policies and regulations; developed programmes leading to effective organisation; employed qualified employees; and equipped them through training for advancement and better opportunities.

Lynette Lee to work in HR at Savills SingaporeReal estate player Savills Singapore has appointed Lynette Lee as HR executive. She has previously undertaken a number of roles in the city-state, such as senior consultant (team lead) at AYP Group, and customer service manager at Jetstar Asia.

Fritzi Ann Montehermoso is brought in for training and process improvementFinancial portfolio visualisation firm Mesitis (Canopy) has appointed a head of operations, training and process improvement, in Fritzi Ann Montehermoso. Based in Singapore, she moves over from AIG APAC Holdings, where she was regional trainer and regional BA manager transformation services.

SD Global Technologies scouts for HR manager in Sharanjeet KaurHaving been based in Malaysia through her career, Sharanjeet Kaur has been recruited by the healthcare information technology provider, SD Global Technologies as HR manager. This replaces her past assignment, where she was HR business partner at Emerio - an NTT Communications company.

Sharlene Wong departs from LF Logistics, joins EssilorNow HR analyst at the ophthalmic optics company Essilor, Sharlene Wong continues to be based in Singapore. She was previously graduate management trainee at LF Logistics, where she completed a six-months rotation in customs brokerage.

Hanif Rahim moves up to apparel and consumer products retailer in recruitment rolePreviously recruitment officer at AEON, Hanif Rahim has joined Central Marketing Group Malaysia as recruitment executive, where he is responsible for the HR department, including recruitment and training. His prior work experience spans beyond HR, wherein he was district sales and marketing leader at Celebrity Fitness Malaysia.

Eugene Tai moves to senior HR role within JLL Previously the senior manager - HR business partner (team lead) and L&D facilitator at the investment and real estate firm, based in Singapore, Eugene Tai is now senior manager - HR business partner (team lead) and country HR ops. In this role, his priority for 2017 is to focus on change management and process improvement in HR operations in order to achieve better efficiency and enhance productivity.

In a conversation with Human Resources, he said: "This is a journey that is starting now in alignment towards our 2020 goal. Another key focus is on building HR capabilities and talent development within the team to better value-add towards anticipating business needs and fulfilling strategic goals."

Before joining JLL in 2015, Tai has experience working with organisations such as STMicroelectronics, NCS Group, and Public Service Division.

Technology and consulting firm Capgemini sees new CHRO appointmentFormerly the executive director of human resources at IBM India, Anil Jalali has joined Capgemini in Bengaluru, as chief human resources officer for its India operations. His prior experience in HR spans tenures across Wipro Technologies and RPG Enterprises.

Tayrius Low takes up new role at FTI Consulting in SingaporeHaving been recently appointed human resources business partner at FTI Consulting, Tayrius Low is stationed in the Singapore office. He will be primarily looking after the Southeast Asia and New Delhi markets. He spoke to Human Resources on his priority in this role: "Working closely with the business on employee engagement, campus outreach and various other HR related projects."

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Aon Hewitt Consulting announces leadership change in Greater ChinaThe global talent, retirement and health solutions business of Aon plc, Aon Hewitt, sees the appointment of Peter Zhang as the CEO for its consulting business in Greater China. He has been with the firm for eight years, and in his previous role was the compensation practice leader for Aon Hewitt Greater China.

Commenting on his appointment, Zhang spoke to Human Resources: "Businesses in China face many challenges in the era of the New Normal. On the back of our strong local capabilities, I aim to introduce innovative HR solutions to help our clients accelerate business performance through their people. I will work closely with my team to empower results for our clients, colleagues and communities."

Zhang succeeds Klaus Liu, who will take on the role of chairman. Stewart Fotheringham, CEO of APMEA region, Aon Hewitt said: "Over the last 12 years, Klaus has established strong and trusted advisor relationships with our clients and developed a team with a winning mind set. I'm confident that Peter will build upon this platform and accelerate results for our clients, colleagues, and communities."

The move is part of a structured leadership succession plan that has been in progress for some time to ensure a smooth transition for the Greater China business. In preparation, Zhang has been an active member of the regional operating committee and China’s senior leadership team for many years.

Ramya Shetty takes up recruitment role at ECnetJoining the supply chain management solutions provider ECnet in Selangor, Malaysia, Ramya Shetty has taken up the role of technical recruiter. Her career spans nearly nine years, and includes the positions of business development manager - recruitments, MLN Infotech; and HR executive, Edwise International.

Letchume Narasiman appointed as senior business development executiveCurrently the senior business development executive (recruitment consultant) at permanent and temporary staffing firm, Job Personnel Consulting, Letchime Narasiman is involved in recruitment for all sectors. She has been with the company since January 2014, and has been promoted from payroll executive to business development executive previously. Some of the vacancies she's currently recruiting for include: accounts clerk; social media executive; and recruitment consultant. Prior to this employer, she was with Robert Walters as team secretary, also based in Kuala Lumpur.

Mel Syers joins Allied Pickfords' marketing team in SingaporeJoining the moving services provider in Singapore as marketing manager, Mel Syers has experience in a variety of marketing disciplines including creating experiences which build and sustain relationships with target audiences. She has been with the firm previously as well in a similar capacity from 2012-2015, post which she joined Nexus International School as head of marketing.

"The most important focus for us currently is creating and maintaining an exceptional customer experience, whilst ensuring cost containment," she told Human Resources. "When times are uncertain, it is great to be able to work with a quality product and team which make reaching strategic goals an achievable proposition. This was certainly a key factor in my decision to return to the company."

Syers has more than 20 years of experience in the industry, having pursued assignments with Optus, Amcor, Confoil, LateRooms.com, and more. She continues to be owner and director of LEM Solutions, which offers business consultancy services in Singapore for SMEs and start-ups.

LinkedIn appoints Jorn Are Lundin as regional sales managerJorn Are Lundin has been promoted by the online networking platform from senior relationship manager - Lynda.com, where he worked directly with the largest clients in ANZ, to regional sales manager, LinkedIn Learning, while based in Sydney. In this role, he leads a talented team of enterprise account executives within LinkedIn Learning Solutions, leading the strategy and execution for ANZ, he told Human Resources.

One of the major projects he is working on is the marked expansion of the LinkedIn Learning solution that was launched late 2016. "This solution based on Lynda.com content together with the LinkedIn platform, will revolutionise the way we do social online learning. I am very excited about the year that is ahead," he affirmed.

Lundin has been with Lynda.com since June 2012 as one of the first international employees, relocated to Sydney, Australia in 2014 and then through the LinkedIn acquisition in 2015 to where he is today.

Robert Walters strengthens recruitment team with Ling Xiang Lee's promotionLing Xiang Lee has been appointed principal consultant - information and cyber security/GRC, where she recruits for information and cyber security, technology risk and compliance professionals within all commerce and banking sectors. This is an advancement from her previous role with Robert Walters as senior consultant - B2B sales and marketing. She continues to be based in Singapore, and has prior experience with Grand Hyatt Singapore, as corporate trainee/corporate sales manager.

Youth4work.com secures the support of Runa Maitra as business evangelistA technology solutions platform to match people’s assessed talents with relevant career opportunities, Youth4work.com has brought on board New Delhi based Runa Maitra as business evangelist, where her priority is to build brand equity, enhance social media presence, and digital marketing capability to impact business growth.

She added, in a conversation with Human Resources: "I would like to support the idea of Youth4work as an innovative people platform aiming to help and empower people to identify, improve and showcase their talent. I will work closely with the team that is focused on building human technology intelligence to provide deep insights helpful for personal and professional improvement."

Maitra continues to be founder and director of People Talent International, a consortium of knowledge partners.

Ringo Lau commences new role with ChapmanCGHaving joining the retained executive search firm dedicated to HR roles as research analyst in October 2013, Ringo Lau has quickly progressed through the ranks and is now associate director, based in Hong Kong. His role involves in-depth research to seek out HR talent across the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Hong Kong and North Asia. He also assists the group in the design and delivery of strategic internal projects involving process and operation development.

Before joining ChapmanCG, Lau did several internships as a business analyst and photographer. He holds a Master’s Degree in management and organisational analysis from the Warwick Business School, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in marketing.

Rachel Gan pursues further responsibility with Robert WaltersIn a promotion up from her role as senior consultant - sales and marketing (FMCG), Rachel Gan is now manager, sales and marketing, consumer and healthcare, at Robert Walters. She currently manages the sales and marketing specialist recruitment team in Robert Walters Singapore, which focuses on recruiting top sales and marketing talent, spanning FMCG, retail and healthcare sectors.

Sharon Lee moves up the ranks to join CareerBuilder as account executiveTenured at Fortis Academy since 2015, Sharon Lee is now account executive at candidate sourcing specialist CareerBuilder in Singapore. She has worked in roles at Benwin Singapore and Commonwealth Travel Corporation.

WiseNet Asia moves Diron Chua up the ranksDiron Chua, formerly senior consultant at the talent solutions provider, is now consulting director, still based in Singapore. He has been with the company since August 2012. He has worked in a number of industry roles previously, such as with HSR International Realtors, Bel'Air International, Object Composers, and PSA Corporation.

ZMG Ward Howell welcomes new consultant, Eugenio OblepiasEugenio Oblepias is promoted at executive search firm, ZMG Ward Howell as consultant in Makati, the Philippines. He was previously senior associate, having joined in January 2015 to manage accounts of local conglomerates. He comes from Unilever, where he was wrapper operator, and his past experience includes stints at Nike, BPI - Philam Life Assurance Corporation, and even ZMG Ward Howell.

Robert Walters bags Bruno Marchand as associate directorBruno Marchand, who relocated within Robert Walters to Singapore in January 2013, has been promoted to associate director - HR and business support. He recruits for roles across functions including HR and business support within commercial and financial services organisations, from junior to senior qualified/executive level roles, on a permanent basis. He has been with the organisation since 2007.

Priya Prakash gets a higher position with move to Randstad SingaporeA 15-year veteran in the HR function, with roles across Pasona Singapore, Manfield Employment Services, and more, Proya Prakash has moved up from consultant - HR at Kelly Services to consultant - HR at Randstad Singapore, working on mid to senior roles. She is working with clients looking for HR professionals across shipping and logistics, aerospace, engineering, construction, transport, and manufacturing.

ADP Philippines welcomes Noel Fontilla as HR directorBased in Makati, Noel Fontilla has joined the payroll services provider after having tenured at Xerox Shared Services for more than four years as HR director. He has previously worked with Xlibris Philippines, Ammex I-Support, Bayantrade Inc, now ePLDT, and more.

CA Search successfully grooms Mae Liu for managing partner roleSpecialist executive search firm CA Search has promoted Mae Liu from practice lead to managing partner, commodities and finance, where she is now a team lead. She continues to be based in Singapore. Prior to her career in executive search, Liu spent four years as a marketing manager.

Aviel Sim is promoted at RecruitFirst, relocates to Hong KongFrom manager at RecruitFirst Singapore, Aviel Sim has been promoted to the role of consulting director, RecruitFirst Hong Kong, where he is a member of the leadership team that is driving the business development and growth of the business. He has been with the firm for close to four years.

Jacqueline Ann Surin moves up the ranks within communication and coachingPeople Potential, a provider of learning and development solutions headquartered in Malaysia, has appointed Jacqueline Ann Surin as senior trainer and coach, where she deliver the international programme, Think On Your Feet® in both Malaysia and Singapore. Additionally, she leads the development of Clean Language in Malaysia with Anne Munro-Kua Transformations (AMKT), where she was formerly senior associate.

Sahas Sankaran is senior consultant at HR consulting firm, Growth OutcomesBased in Singapore, Sahas Sankaran has joined Growth Outcomes, where his immediate priority is to keep innovating in the HR space, he told Human Resources. He added: "We have many entrenched HR processes like performance ratings, calibration and merit review. All these take up significant time - but the value created through retention and engagement is not quantified. It's a great platform for innovating and it's a big focus area."

He added: "I'm working with three clients currently - in leadership coaching, career transition coaching, and executive rewards. Two of my clients are multinationals and one is a start up."

In addition to this assignment, Sankaran is working as a consultant to two other organisations - Lee Hecht Harrison and Freelance Total Rewards - after having left Mondelēz International.

Cybersecurity provider Dimension Data appoints Sheng-He Chen to talent acquisitionHaving been with ChapmanCG as senior associate for the HR practice recruitment across Asia Pacific since October 2015, Sheng-He (Justin) Chen has now joined Dimension Data in talent acquisition, based in Singapore. He now assists the team to identify high potential talent, and leverages Asia Pacific and global contacts in conducting research projects for placements. Before getting into recruiting, Chen worked in the health and fitness industry.
