HR practitioner appointments

Abigail Lim is the new head of human resources at Boustead IkanoLim was appointed to the role in July 2016 from her previous role as principal consultant at Hunters International. She comes with around 16 years of experience in the HR industry and has previously worked in multinational companies such as AXA Affin Life Insurance and CEVA Freight Holding. Lim will remain based in Malaysia.

Changi Airport Group has promoted Shirley Cheong to VP people teamCheong was promoted to the role of VP people team from her previous role of AVP people team in July 2016. She has been with Changi Airport Group since June 2012, when she joined as an AVP HR. Cheong has been in the HR industry since 1999 and has worked for organisations such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Singapore Economic Development Board. She will remain based in Singapore.

Shelley Perkins has taken up a new role in AccorHotels, moves out from SingaporePerkins was appointed to the role of senior vice president of talent and culture, luxury brands at AccorHotels in August 2016. This new role sees her moving to France from Singapore where she was most recently the vice president of human resources at Fairmont Raffles Hotels and Resorts International. Perkins comes with more than 23 years of HR experience and has worked across Asia Pacific and United States for renowned companies such as The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.

Young & Rubicam/Wunderman has a new regional talent acquisition managerYoung & Rubicam/Wunderman promoted Cindy Tan to the role in August 2016 from her previous role as regional talent associate where her responsibilities included being a key facilitator in building a strong database of talents in APAC and maintaining contact with global HR and WPP (parent company) to develop additional talent pipelines. In this new role, Tan will remain based in Singapore.

Sharon Yeo is promoted to the role of senior HR associateSingapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) has promoted Yeo to the role of senior HR associate from her previous role of HR associate. In her new role, Yeo will remain based in Singapore. A graduate of RMIT University with a bachelor of business management, human resources, Yeo has been in the HR industry for about five years and has worked for The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi prior to joining SUTD.

Maximal Concepts promotes Maggie Chiu Chiu has been promoted by Maximal Concepts to the role of HR assistant manager from her previous role as HR officer, effective August 2016. Chiu has been with Maximal Concepts since she graduated from The University of Hull with a bachelor's degree in marketing and management, joining the company as an HR assistant. She will remain based in Hong Kong.

RHB Banking Group has welcomed Willie Chew to its talent acquisition teamChew joined RHB Banking Group in July 2016 as AVP, of talent acquisition from her previous role of APAC talent acquisition specialist at Brightstar Corp. A HR and strategic talent acquisition professional, Chew has diverse HR consulting background from general staffing and recruiting agency, headhunting, RPO, and shared recruitment services and internal HRM background. She will remain based in Malaysia.

Jason Wong takes up a new role at Shangri-La Hotels and ResortsIn August 2016, Wong has moved up the ranks from being the assistant human resources officer at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts - The Aberdeen Marina Club to being the human resources officer at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts - Kerry Hotel. He has been with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts since he joined in 2012 in their global corporate office as a human resources associate. Prior to that, he worked for The Peninsula Hong Kong as a contact clerk - human resources. He will remain based in Hong Kong.

Ho Bee Land has appointed Regina Woo as manager, human resourcesWoo was appointed to the role in July 2016 from her previous role as a recruitment manager at Adecco Singapore. A people-oriented person with great interest and passion in working in a dynamic and diversified organisation, Woo carries about 15 years of HR and business experience with her having worked for companies such as Kelly Services, L'Occitane en Provence and Dimensions International College over the years. For her new role, she will remain based in Singapore.

Janet Lai is the group human resources manager for Fortune Pharmacal Co.Lai joined Fortune Pharmacal Co. in August 2016 from her previous role as corporate senior human resources manager at Lanson Place Hospitality Management. In her new role as the group human resources manager, she will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR functions, handling HR projects in the transformation process and report to the CHRO. Lai will remain based in Hong Kong.

Bread Talk has a new assistant HR managerJackie Tay has been promoted by Bread Talk to the role of assistant HR manager from her previous role as senior HR executive, effective July 2016. Tay comes with about seven years of HR experience and has worked for large organisations such as FJ Benjamin and DFS Galleria prior to joining Bread Talk in 2015 as a senior HR executive. She will remain based in Singapore.

Nisha Ranne Sharma has joined Hong Leong Bank as manager, talent acquisitionWith effect from August 2016, Sharma has been appointed by Hong Leong Bank to the role of manager, talent acquisition from her previous role as senior talent acquisition, lead and subject matter expert at Convergys. She carries with her 10 years of HR experience and has previously worked for multinational banks such as HSBC and Citi. She will remain based in Malaysia.

Coach has a new assistant manager, C&B, AsiaCoach has appointed Malvika Sharma to the role of assistant manager, C&B, Asia with effect from August 2016. Prior to this, Sharma was working with The Kraft Heinz Company as a senior compensation and benefits specialist, APAC. Having worked for companies such as American Express and Towers Watson, she comes with about eight years of HR experience both as a C&B professional and consultant. She will remain based in Singapore.

Wee Kiat Lau has joined Mondelēz International from AccentureWith effect from August 2016, Lau has been appointed by Mondelēz International to the role of HR business partner, commercial from his previous role as senior analyst, global campus and early talent, talent strategy and engagement at Accenture. Based in Malaysia, in this new role, Lau's responsibilities includes organisation development, talent development and succession planning, training and development, performance management, organisation changes, and employee relations and engagement.

On his new role, Lau told Human Resources: "One of the main focus for the year is to continue building people capability and talent development within Mondelez International."

"My responsibilities are mainly driven by the approach on building people's knowledge and skills for respective functions, redefining and refining career experience in the new organisation framework and talent succession planning across the structure."

New HR head for MothersonSumi INfotech & Designs (Samvardhana Motherson Group) Mukesh Batra has been appointed to the role of head - human resource from his previous role as head human resources at Rocket Internet SE, effective July 2016. Batra is a dynamic professional with 28 years of HR and business experience including in HR management, business and HR strategy, organisation development, building employee value, and more. In his new role, he will remain based in India.

Tracy Anne Sugay has taken up a new role at HolcimSugay joined Holcim in August 2016 in the role of talent acquisition manager/HR business partner. She comes with about 13 years of recruitment and talent acquisition experience and has worked for multinational companies such as Shell and IBM Global Business Services with her most recent role being senior consultant at ZMG Ward Howell. She will remain based in the Philippines.

Savitha Shivsankar has left Mondelēz International to join Novartis IndiaWith effect from June 2016, Shivsankar joined Novartis India in the role of head, human resources from her previous role of vice president - HR at Mondelēz International. She comes with about 17 years of HR and business experience and will remain based in India in her new role.

General Electric has promoted Deepak Amoli With effect from June 2016, Deepak Amoli has been promoted by General Electric to the role of HR ops - COE at General Electric global operations - ASEAN countries from his previous role as HR ops General Electric India. Amoli comes with about four years of HR experience and has worked for companies such as Pantaloon Retail India and Movenpick Hotel and Spa. He will remain based in India.

Amoli told Human Resources that his priorities are to deliver efficiently keeping in mind the cultural and behavior aspects of the ASEAN countries, and the new learnings, responsibilities, global exposure and deliverables.

"I would like to keep 2 major competencies within me," Amoli said.

"Firstly, I would like to have the drive and resilience to focus on my work behavior while under pressure and to adapt to changing conditions and requirements."

"Secondly, as this is a very new project, I would like to make swift decisions and take initiatives."

HR solutions provider appointments

RGF Singapore has appointed Jonathan Guilfoile as managing directorRGF HR Agent Singapore (RGF Singapore) - a subsidiary of Recruit Holdings Co. - has promoted Jonathan Guilfoile to the role of managing director, as of 1 January 2016. Guilfoile formerly served as senior director at RGF Singapore and succeeded Jason Dacaret. He possesses nearly 10 years of experience in the recruitment industry, and will remain based in Singapore.

Genesys has appointed Keith Budge as senior VP and general manager of APACEffective 5 August 2016, Budge replaces Bruce Eidsvik, now senior vice president of global field marketing. Prior to joining Genesys, Budge served as senior vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Business Objects (now part of SAP). He brings 28 years of executive leadership experience in enterprise technology and will be based in Singapore.

Citrix appoints Stanimira Koleva as GVP of sales and services for the APJ regionWith effect from 11 August 2016, Koleva has been appointed to the role of appointed group vice president (GVP) of sales and services for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region, reporting to Carlos Sartorius, executive vice president worldwide sales and services. In this role, she will be responsible for leading and evolving the Citrix sales and services strategy to continue to drive the company’s vision. Koleva was most recently the senior vice president and chief operations officer, for APJ at Software AG, where she was responsible for the business in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. She will be based in Singapore.

Steve Man is the founder of Buddy TownIn July 2016, Steve Man founded Buddy Town, a social enterprise aimed to serve as SME's HR partner and middle aged career transition. Man holds rich and diversified executive experience in various industries. He comes with 25 years of experience in internal HR consulting and is a qualified “enterprise trainer” and a certified HR coach. Man is also currently the managing consultant of Karawell International Limited and is based in Hong Kong.

When approached for a comment by Human Resources, Man said:"Buddy Town (BT) is a social enterprise recently formed by partners including HR professionals and business entrepreneurs who would like to resolve Hong Kong’s middle aged people re-employment issues."

With less than two months’ works and promotion, BT has already established good networks with employers and buddies (its targets) and made successful employment matching and people transition cases. It has also recruited a large number of volunteer coaches and HR professionals for providing career counselling and coaching as well as other re-employment supports to its buddies.

"Looking forward, we would like to expand our scale to serve more companies and buddies and continue this social movement to the community," he added.

Allegis Group - Talent2 promotes Evelyn Zheng to manager- accounting and financeWith over four years of  accounting and finance recruiting experience, Zheng was promoted by Allegis Group - Talent2 in August 2016 from her previous role as principal consultant - accounting and finance. In her current role, she leads a team of five and covers recruiting for roles including FP&A, accounting, plant finance, commercial finance, tax, treasury, credit, IA/IC/compliance, M&A, strategy, and SSC. She will remain based in China.

Page Personnel Hong Kong has a new consultant - sales and marketingSebastian Cheung has moved from the role of consultant - human resources at Page Personnel Hong Kong to the role of consultant- sales and marketing at the same company, effective August 2016. Based in Hong Kong, in his current role he specialises in recruiting entry to mid level sales and marketing professionals across the industrial and medical sector in Hong Kong.

Jack Wong has been promoted by Randstad SingaporeWith effect from July 2016, Wong has been promoted from the role of recruitment consultant - public relations and communications to the role of senior recruitment consultant. With about four years of recruitment experience, Wong's specialities includes executive search, recruitment, talent acquisition, employment, executive talent sourcing, staffing solutions and relationship management. Based in Singapore, roles he recruits for includes B2B PR, consumer PR, corporate PR, technology PR, internal communications, digital communications and corporate communications.

Kent Ip has joined Aod Consultants as an HR consultantIp joined Aod COnsultants in May 2016 from his previous role as director, human resources at Neo Derm Group. He holds about 28 years of HR experience and has held senior HR roles in companies such as Johnson Electric, PCCW Teleservices and Galaxy Entertainment. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Aditya Maheswaran has been promoted by Korn Ferry Hay GroupEffective July 2016, Maheswaran has been promoted to the role of associate principal from his previous role as senior consultant where his responsibilities included helping organisations execute their strategy to optimise business performance. He will be based in India.

Ofir Shalev has left Mercer to join CXAWith effect from August 2016, Shalev has left his previous role as partner, CIO employee health and benefits Asia at Mercer to join CXA as CIO. An entrepreneurial executive with over 20 years of international experience spanning across multiple geographies, product lines and functions, Shalev leads both the IT strategy and the execution. A data driven CIO, he manages and leads a regional team supporting the businesses exceptional growth rates in Asia and will be based in Singapore.

On his new role, Shalev told Human Resources: "My number one action item will be leveraging the latest software tools and data science technologies to build cool and innovative products and services that will make a real impact on people’s lives and will fuel the exceptional growth of our business."
