HR Practitioner Appointments

C&A China designates Jacqueline Yew as CHROHaving relocated from Singapore to Shanghai, Yew has moved from Pactera where she was senior vice president for organisational strategy and leadership development for one-and-a-half-years, to the fashion retailer. Her past experience includes the role of VP HR for supply chain Asia and global procurement at Unilever, where she spent close to 14 years.

adidas Group nominates Grace Bi to talent acquisitionWith her speciality in headhunting, Bi has been appointed by the sporting goods firm to talent acquisition, based in Shanghai, moving from her role as consultant at staffing firm Talent2, where she tenured since May 2012, prior to which she worked with Hudson.

Leading pharma company appoints Anita Anthonysamy as senior recruitment executiveGSK Malaysia has appointed Anthonysamy as senior recruitment executive, continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur. She has previously taken up roles such as senior talent acquisition specialist at GroupM, and senior recruitment consultant - project at Futurestep, a Korn Ferry company.

Nathalie Parent relocates to Belgium for a new HR rolePreviously the senior vice president for EMEA region at SAP based in Germany, Parent has moved to relationship marketing platform Selligent for the newly-created role of chief talent officer in Belgium. She has previously been SVP of human resources for hybris Software.

André Lejeune, CEO at Selligent, said: "Chief talent officer is an important new role at Selligent, and I'm very pleased to have Nathalie in this position and part of our leadership team." Added Parent: "I look forward to helping Selligent build and strengthen a first-class global team that is singularly focused on shaping the future of relationship marketing."

Parent is responsible for leading Selligent's global expansion through talent strategy and acquisition, propagating the company's culture through cross-departmental collaboration and training, and building a global organisation that can quickly identify growth opportunities.

Qatar Airways names Fernando Casadevall as chief human resources officerThe aviation major has named Casadevall CHRO, who was previously the retail - group HR director for Al-Futtaim based in Dubai. Casadevall has been in HR for more than 18 years, and his prior experience includes tenures at Citigroup; Sony Pictures Entertainment; and Spear, Leeds & Kellogg.

Sherlina Chew heads up GoSwiff International's global HR functionThe global financial solutions provider headquartered in Singapore, has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Chew as global head of HR, who will champion the development of the function and lead the spectrum of HR services across regions. She will also drive strategic HR business plans, talent management and align human capital priorities, based in Singapore.

Mark Patrick, GoSwiff's CEO, said: "We are proud to have Sherlina join our team of international experts. With staff from over 30 countries and operations in 25 countries, we will greatly benefit from Sherlina’s vast experience both in global companies and banks."

In her most recent role, Chew was head of HR at FGB Asia Pacific (First Gulf Bank). She has also previously been VP HR business partner for Société Générale Corporate & Investment Bank.

Turner selects Michelle Tam as officer of human resourcesOwner of leading cable television networks, Turner Broadcasting System, has recruited Tam as officer - HR, effective May 2016, based in Hong Kong. She moves over from The Peninsula Hong Kong, where she joined as HR coordinator, and then moved up to HR officer.

Patricia Wong appointed group resourcing director for The Dairy Farm GroupWong has been appointed group resourcing director at the pan-Asian retailer, based in Hong Kong. She moves from Korn Ferry International, where she last held the role of principal, after being promoted from senior associate and managing associate respectively.

HDFC Bank brings on board Arin Goswami as manager HRBased in Gurgaon, Goswami has taken up the role of HR manager at Indian bank. He moves from Orient Electric, where he was senior executive HR. He has also previously worked as NGO intern at Butterflies, and at Mancer Consulting Services.

Petrofac moves Mohd Hafiz Md Hanif up the ranks to HRBP and C&B advisorHaving been with the FTSE 250 company since August 2012, Mohd Hafiz is now taking on the dual role of HR business partner, in addition to his previous responsibility of C&B advisor, while continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to Petrofac, he has worked with Measat Broadcast Network Systems, The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and more.

Saira Ijaz scouted by Islamabad Serena Hotel's recruitment teamIzaj has joined the Pakistan-based hotel as senior HR executive (recruitment), based in Islamabad, taking responsibility of recruitment matters ranging from database management to candidate sourcing, arranging interviews and appointment letters, assisting in designing job descriptions, and more. She was previously HR assistant/ HR generalist at OMV.

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Carol Chen takes up assistant manager role at Prudential Chen, previously the group C&B HR executive at Jebsen Group, is now assistant manager, rewards at insurance provider, Prudential Hong Kong, while continuing to be based in Hong Kong. Prior to Jebsen, she has worked with Mercer across Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

ValeurHR strengthens business process management (BPM) pipelineShivalika Sharma, previously business analyst with the technology and consulting provider ValeurHR based in Singapore, has been promoted to BPM - manager, based in Chandigarh, India. In this role, she is working on one of ValeurHR's major client partner based out of Singapore. She told Human Resources: "I will be handling the complete project which involves expansion of the organisation into India. I will be reporting to the COO." Prior to joining ValeurHR, she worked with Click Labs as product manager.

Lee Wei commences work with Search PersonnelJoining the recruitment and staffing firm, Lee is based in Singapore, and she moves from Puchong, Malaysia where she was management trainee at Total Markets Solutions. She has completed her education from Sunway University.

Appointments at Morgan McKinleyReina Cheng has been appointed managing director for Morgan McKinley's Hong Kong business. She has previously worked at Ambition Recruitment for four years before moving to Standard Chartered as a talent acquisition specialist, then Talent2 and Robert Half.

Richie Holliday, Morgan McKinley APAC COO commented: "We are pleased to have Reina onboard to manage our business in Hong Kong, which is growing both in terms of volume of business and the range of services we offer to clients."

Other appointments within the Hong Kong office over the past six weeks include: Hill Li to the accounting team and Abbie Ng within the banking operations and finance desk - both joining from Randstad; Brad Choi who joins the risk and compliance desk; Shyra Kamarudin to strengthen the IT division, relocating from Robert Walters in Singapore; whilst Sophia Cheng joins the payroll division; Pheobe Ngok the finance desk; and Paula Way and Mariza Lai join the office support recruitment team.

Additionally, Natalie Koh has taken up the role of consultant - sales and marketing - consumer at the recruiter with focus in the retail and consumer sector, up the ranks from being an associate consultant - HR and consumer retail sales, based in Singapore. In this assignment, she is focusing on developing the firm's talent pool and providing candidate care across the retail and consumer space. Koh reports to Ivy Cheng, manager of the sales and marketing team Morgan McKinley Singapore, she told Human Resources.

Aditi Singh PHR, SHRM-CP pursues career with Booking.comSingh has joined the travel and accommodation platform as HR business partner based in Singapore, responsible for providing advisory in talent management for Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore. She moves from ZALORA Group where she was HR manager - talent management.

In her new role, her focus is on driving business results by building a motivated and effective team around the leaders, she told Human Resources. She reports to the head of HR, APAC.

Aju Murjani (CEA) is appointed to new role at Excelity Global in SingaporeThe HR outsourcing provider, formerly the payroll business of Aon Hewitt, has chosen Murjani as managing director ASEAN, and he continues to be based in Singapore. He was previously managing partner at SpinifexIT, and vice president at Nakisa Singapore.

In conversation with Human Resources, he said his priority this year is to develop a stronger client network to learn and grow with the industry’s best, and create a hearty workplace environment.

"People’s competencies are being tested more than ever with technology and social changes. Organisations need to do more with less, hence there’s a quote from Peter Drucker I live by – 'if you want something new, you have to stop doing something old'," he adds.

Marianne Roux is partner at Silverstone EdgeRoux has undertaken the lead role at the Australia-based management consulting firm in March 2016, tasked with the responsibility for executive coaching, senior team alignment, and culture transformation, among others. She has also been appointed board director for Edmund Rice Foundation, a community development organisation, effective June 2016. Prior to these assignments, she led Redstone Consulting Partners, a start-up leadership and organisational development company, and in November 2014, she partnered with Kellie Stirling to buy Redstone Consulting, changing the name to StirlingRoux Consulting. They managed this business until March 2016, when Roux joined the old StirlingRoux business (now RouxConsulting) with Silverstone Edge to create a larger business.

Betty Lau commences board advisory role with EDAThe global learning director of Unilever has joined the advisory board of Executive Development Associates (EDA), a boutique consulting firm. At Unilever, she is responsible for the development of the top 3,000 leaders. Before joining Unilever, Betty worked for Novartis where she spent five years as a programme director at its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

Bonnie Hagemann, CEO of EDA, remarked: Betty, Val and David will add thought leadership in the areas of international business, trends in development, and technology’s impact on leadership today."

Appointments at Ambition AsiaThe boutique recruitment firm has made a number of appointments in Malaysia, starting with Thomas Watling as a managing consultant - digital, where he specialises in senior level appointments. He moves over from Michael Page, where he was an IT and technology consultant, continuing to be based in Kuala Lumpur.

Another appointment is of Nazmina Khan as recruitment consultant, who specialises in recruiting mid to senior level positions in strategic, functional and digital marketing roles, based in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to this, she was a recruitment consultant at Hays, and is a graduate of Monash University Malaysia.

Omesh Mahtani has also joined Ambition Asia as a consultant, specialising in recruiting software engineers, including areas such as full stack and usability. His previous work experience includes tenures at Hays, Tay & Partners, and Ghazi & Lim.

ALS International's former head of HR practice is on a break till Aug 2016Michelle Jackson, who headed the HR practice of the executive search firm from Aug 2012 to Jun 2016 in Hong Kong, is currently on a break till Aug 2016, where she starts work on a new opportunity. Prior to ALS, she was the senior HR manager at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Hong Kong.

British Council develops Jeffrey Gougeon to Professional Development TrainerGougeon has moved up the ranks to the role of professional development trainer, responsible for designing and implementing customised workshops for topics like better email writing, effective communications, and presentation skills. He joined the education non-profit in March 2014 as trainer of English, moving up to ProELT coordinator in Jul 2015. He continues to be based in Kuala Lumpur, and has previously worked with Brighton Education Group and Seoul Education Training Institute, among others.

Ray Hoe engaged by AXA as talent acquisition leadMoving over from Aviva, where Hoe tenured for close to two years, he is now talent acquisition lead with insurance provider AXA, based in Singapore, where he is responsible for reaching out to world-class talent. His past experience includes stints at Citi, EIRE Systems, and Adecco Personnel.

Finest People Singapore relocates Jamaica Oliva for specialist recruitment roleOliva has previously based in Makati City where she was a financial advisor for Sun Life Financial. She has now moved to Singapore, joining Amsterdam-based Finest People Singapore as recruitment specialist in Mar 2016, becoming recruitment specialist in search engine marketing effective Jun 2016.
