How Merck & Motorola make HR tech decisions

From breakthroughs to business opportunities, HR technology continues to prove its role in human resources. However, with the deluge of options and ever-expanding concepts today, how should HR pick the technological options that match their organisations and deliver targeted results? At HR Tech Interactive, Asia’s only invitation-only HR technology event for HR leaders, senior HR professionals from Fuji Xerox, Merck, and Motorola will examine the latest HR tools and address the most critical issues in user adoption.

Organised by Human Resources, HR Tech Interactive 2017 is a one-day conference happening in Kuala Lumpur on 12 September, in Singapore on 14 September, and in Manila on 28 September.

“Technology implementation is a major factor in handling new waves of innovation for HR operations and people processes,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine. “What HR Tech Interactive 2017 promises is a set of top-notch speakers who will present intelligent discussions, credible studies and proven methods of managing technology.”

HR Tech Interactive 2017 will explore the topics HR research has found to be the most critical for the HR community such as talent analytics, mobile HR strategy, HR cloud, social media, and hiring tools. Some of the speakers joining HR Tech Interactive 2017 are:

As the HR senior leader for Fuji Xerox, Jacely Voon is in charge of leading rewards strategy and creating HR programs that align with Fuji Xerox’s business goals. Her role for regional HR transformation caters to 14 countries across Asia Pacific and oversees the development of a platform that improves talent and people capability and enhances cross country collaboration and engagement across the countries. Voon is the member of Fuji Xerox’s talent group and has participated in the company’s business change project.

Alexis Saussinan is the head of the global organisation and people analytics team at Merck Group. He supervises Merck’s healthcare, life sciences, and performance materials and focuses on areas such as reorganisation, new business set-up/new market penetration, post-merger integration, restructuring, workforce planning and people analytics. Before joining Merck, Saussinan performed various HR leadership roles in consulting and corporate environments.

Dr Hari Narayanan’s duty to manage Motorola’s operations at its Penang site involves supply chain, R&D, and the company’s Global Solutions & Services Centre. Dr Narayanan, the managing director of Motorola Solutions, has over 25 years of professional experience and has held leadership positions within the company. Among his notable accomplishments were his supervision of the Motorola Solutions R&D organisation and leadership of various teams responsible for delivering innovative products for different portfolios for worldwide customers.

Past HR Tech Interactive participants are senior HR leaders from major employers in the region, such as AXA, Credit Suisse, Ericsson, Hewlett Packard, Hyatt Group, Maersk, Petronas, Societe Generale, UPS, and Volvo Cars. All presenters and panellists, such as David Chin, chief human resources officer at Biosensors, are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.

Held in Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore in September, HR Tech Interactive is Asia’s dedicated HR technology strategy event. Attendance to the one-day annual event is by invitation only with invitations reserved for the senior in-house HR professionals.

Human Resources’ “Interactive-style” conference format applies to case study presentations, panel discussions and roundtable discussions in which delegates work through five topic areas in a single day – an experience described by attendees as eight hours of intense peer learning.
