The second batch of subsidies to be disbursed under Hong Kong's Temporary Unemployment Relief Scheme will now get underway, as effective 19 April 2022, the 41,000 successful applicants will start receiving notifications. Among them, about 30,000 applicants have been identified as having accounts under the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) schemes, while the remaining 11,000 applicants do not have an MPF account.

The way the scheme works, if an applicant has successfully received HK$10,000 under the 2020 Cash Payout Scheme with his/her bank account, the subsidy will be deposited into this preset bank account.

It is expected that successful applicants will receive start to receive this new batch of subsidies from 21 April 2022.

"We are processing the remaining applications in full swing and will announce the next batch of successful applicants in due course. Also, for applicants who have been assessed to be not eligible under the Scheme, we will start notifying them of the application result from April 25 onwards," a Government spokesperson said.

Applicants may log into the dedicated website of the Scheme to check their application status, or provide additional information to verify their eligibility if necessary.
