Up the ranks: Renyi Yan joins Embed Financial Group Holdings as its new Chief People Officer

Yan will focus on building EFGH into a fast-growing organisation through leadership development, designing teams that actually work across regions, and creating an environment where talent can operate at pace.

Embed Financial Group Holdings (EFGH) has appointed Renyi Yan (pictured above) as Chief People Officer. He moves on from his previous position as Senior Organisation and Management Advisor at Saudi Aramco Group.

A seasoned HR leader, Yan spent two decades driving organisational transformation across Asia Pacific and the Middle East with companies including PwC, Ericsson, Prudential, and Saudi Aramco.

At EFGH, Yan’s focus will be to lead the Group’s people and organisational direction as it scales across markets, and to build a high-performing organisation that can grow quickly — without losing clarity, alignment, or culture. He will work closely with the Group CEO and Executive Chairman.

"The challenge is not growth. The challenge is scaling without becoming slow," Yan shares with HRO. As EFGH expands across multiple markets, his priority is ensuring leadership, operating models, and ways of working are clear enough to scale, yet flexible enough to keep teams moving quickly and decisively.

"If we get this right, teams across regions can move in sync, make faster decisions, and stay focused on execution. Strong organisations are not accidental. They are built with intent."

What excites him most?

"Most companies spend years trying to change their DNA. Here, we get to build it from the ground up." Unlike legacy organisations trying to reinvent themselves, Yan shares how EFGH is still being shaped — and his excitement that he gets to bring together teams across Asia, Africa, and beyond into one cohesive, high-functioning organisation.

When it comes to talent, Yan shares his biggest challenge isn’t finding it — it’s whether organisations are ready for it. With today's fast-paced and constantly shifting environment, leaders must operate across markets, cultures, and disciplines simultaneously, and even the best talent can struggle if organisational structures and culture aren’t evolving in step with the business, he highlights.

At the same time, Yan sees huge opportunity in the global talent pool. "The companies that win will be the ones that know how to harness global talent, not just hire it," he says.

"There is a growing pool of globally minded talent across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These are individuals who are comfortable working across borders, cultures and disciplines. They are adaptable, commercially aware and digital-first.

"The opportunity is to bring this diversity together in a way that actually works."
