NUS tops Asia in global university ranking

Two Singapore-based universities, National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) claimed the top two spots in Asia based on the latest QS Asia University Rankings 2019; followed by China’s Tsinghua University in the third place.

Globally, NUS ranked 11th with NTU following after at 12th spot. Additionally, NTU was also given the 5-star in the QS star rating system which provides a detailed look at an institution, enabling you to identify which universities are the best in the specific topics that you care about, such as programme strength, facilities, graduate employability, social responsibility, inclusiveness, and more.

Meanwhile, The University of Hong Kong was also amongst the top 5 universities in Asia with its 5th position in Asia and 25th globally.

  3. Tsinghua University
  4. The University of Tokyo
  5. The University of Hong Kong
  6. Peking University
  7. Kyoto University
  8. Seoul National University
  9. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  10. KAIST- Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology

This year, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has included 1,000 of the world’s top universities in its rankings with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) topping the list for a record seventh consecutive year. Six different indicators are used to compile this ranking including academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio.
