Judges for HR Excellence Awards 2017 announced

Today’s top HR professionals will be recognised at the HR Excellence Awards 2017 by the industry’s most respected leaders and experts. The HR Excellence Awards, Asia's only regional awards celebrating excellence in outstanding human capital strategy, will take place in Kuala Lumpur on 4 October, in Hong Kong on 6 October, and in Singapore on 19 October.

“The HR Excellence Awards 2017 jury is composed of experienced practitioners and high achievers from the largest organisations across Asia,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine. “This means that all entries will undergo thorough evaluation and will be measured against international standards.”

Some of the judges joining the HR Excellence Awards 2017 are listed below.

As the head of organisational development of group talent management at Axiata, Bilal Waris drives the agenda to digitise HR and talent management in order to employ new capabilities to deliver a great experience across all HR and talent management processes. Through his career, Waris has used technology to design customer experience and improve processes. He has also worked in various areas of HR such as service design, strategy, and programme management.

With over 15 years of experience as rewards professional, Tricia Lim is the head of performance and rewards at Maxis. Lim has performed various HR roles in the telecommunications industry, including as consultant with Hewitt Associates, head of rewards at Digi, and head of total rewards for Southeast Asia and Oceania for Ericsson. Lim holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Optimising people performance through roles in organisational development and change management has been the guiding principle for Lisa Yeow. As the director of organisation development and human resources for Asia Pacific at CHANEL, Yeow is responsible for driving the organisation, culture and people for a company that employs approximately 6,000 people across 11 countries in Asia. Through her career, Yeow has been trusted with assignments in London, Africa, India, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore and Australia. She has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Organisational Behaviour.

Kathryn Whyte-Southcombe is known for her contributions to building leading corporate social responsibility programs and partnerships. As the head of talent and resourcing at the InterContinental Hotels Group, Whyte-Southcombe leads the talent strategy team, operations and transformation across Asia, Middle East and Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Asian Studies and Bachelor of Law from Australian National University.

With 25 categories this year, the HR Excellence Awards invites all HR organisations, whether privately-owned, government, or NGOs to submit their entries. They can send entries based on this year’s categories, such as HR strategy, compensation & benefits, learning & development, HR technology, employee engagement, diversity, employer branding, leadership development and many more.

The HR Excellence Awards 2017 entries will be judged by over 50 seasoned regional heads of HR from around Asia, making the HR Excellence Awards the only HR awards in Asia based on a peer review system. Companies represented on the HR Excellence Awards jury are the most respected Fortune 500 organisations and some of the biggest employers in Asia.
