From check‑in to take‑off: The world's best airports of 2026

Singapore's Changi Airport ranks first, with Hong Kong International Airport in fourth place.

Skytrax has revealed Singapore's Changi Airport as Airport of the Year 2026, in its latest ranking of the world's top 20 airports

The former 13-time winner of the World’s Best Airport award also took home four other major awards in the following categories:

  • World’s Best Airport Dining,
  • World’s Best Airport (0-70mn passengers),
  • World’s Best Airport Immigration Service, and
  • Best Airport in Asia.

Among Asian airports, Seoul's Incheon International Airport, Japan's Tokyo International Airport (Haneda), Hong Kong International Airport, and and Japan's Fukuoka Airport ranked second, third, fourth, and 18th place, respectively.

Overall, the world's top 20 airports of 2026 are as follows:

  2. Incheon International Airport
  3. Tokyo International Airport (Haneda)
  4. Hong Kong International Airport
  5. Narita International Airport
  6. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport
  7. Rome Fiumicino Airport
  8. Istanbul Airport
  9. Munich Airport
  10. Vancouver International Airport
  11. Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
  12. Chubu Centrair International Airport
  13. Dubai International Airport
  14. Riyadh Airport
  15. Vienna International Airport
  16. London Heathrow Airport
  17. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
  18. Fukuoka Airport
  19. Zurich Airport
  20. Bahrain Airport

Other interesting findings:

  • Seoul's Incheon Airport is ranked at second globally in 2026, and earned the title of the World’s Most Family Friendly Airport.
  • Tokyo Haneda Airport ranks third globally and received three major awards as the World’s Cleanest Airport (Major Airport), the World’s Best Domestic Airport and for having the World’s Best Airport PRM & Accessible Facilities.
  • Hong Kong International Airport moved up to fourth place globally, and earned the World’s Best Airport Washrooms and also collected the award for the World’s Best Airport Security Processing.

Other airports across Asia were also recognised for their distinct achievements:

  • Chubu Centrair International Airport in Nagoya, a repeat winner, taking both the World’s Best Regional Airport and Best Regional Airport in Asia titles.
  • Japan’s Aso Kumamoto Airport was recognised as the World’s Best New Airport Terminal.
  • Japan’s New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido claimed the World’s Cleanest Airport award for facilities serving up to 30mn passengers.
  • Terminal 2 at Kansai International Airport repeated its previous success, winning the World’s Best Low-Cost Terminal award.
  • Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport also saw repeat success, receiving the World’s Best Airport Baggage Delivery award in 2026.
  • In India & South Asia, Delhi International Airport was named Best Airport, Hyderabad Airport won for Best Airport Staff Service, and Bangalore Airport took home Best Regional Airport.
  • Among airport hotels, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport earned both the World’s Best Airport Hotel and Best Airport Hotel in Asia titles.
  • The Pullman Brisbane Airport was recognised as the Best Airport Hotel in the Australia & Pacific region.
  • The Taj Bangalore repeated its win as Best Airport Hotel in India & South Asia.

About the World Airport Awards

The World Airport Awards are based on the World Airport Survey questionnaires completed by over 100 nationalities of airport customers during the survey period, which operated from August 2025 to February 2026.

The survey evaluated the customer experience across airport service and product key performance indicators – from check in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security / immigration through to departure at the gate.
