HR practitioner appointments

Sapna Saxena has joined PayPalEffective November 2016, Saxena has joined PayPal as the director of people operations APAC, moving from her previous role as head of country HR, APAC at Telstra. A seasoned HR professional with experience across different industries both MNC as well as public sector companies with regional as well as locally focused roles, Saxena was a regional HR manager at Development Dimensions International prior to joining Telstra. In this new role, she is based in Singapore.

JAS welcome new head of HR, APACLorraine Pang joined JAS Worldwide Asia in November as regional HR director APAC. Pang brings with her more than 15 years of experience. Before joining JAS, she was the associate HR director with Singtel under group enterprise. Pang is based in Singapore in her new role.

Annette Thia joins Amazon Web Services' talent acquisition teamThia joined the company in the role of senior talent acquisition, from her previous role as head of regional recruitment at Lazada Group, effective December 2016. In her new role, she covers the hiring of HR professionals to join Amazon Web Services' every growing team to support the rapidly expanding business. She is based in Singapore.

Zubair Raffiq is promoted by L'OrealRaffiq was promoted by the company from the role of talent acquisition manager and HR business partner to the role of consumer products division (CPD) HR manager, effective December 2016. In his new role, he is responsible for HR in the CPD division covering talent management, talent development, talent engagement, rewards, and performance management. An HR enthusiast, Raffir - who made a shift from engineering to HR - is based in Malaysia.

Speaking to Human Resources, Raffiq said that his key focus is to understand the business and at the same time drive plans in talent management and development to fuel the growth ambitions of the division.

Mondelēz International promotes Nate OngWith effect from November 2016, Ong has been promoted by Mondelēz International from the role of HR business lead - integrated supply chain, Malaysia, to the role of regional organisation pillar lead, Asia Pacific (integrated lean six sigma). Prior to joining Mondelēz International, he was with British American Tobacco (Malaysia) in the role of head of HR, supply chain and corporate functions. Ong is based in Malaysia in his new role.

HR solutions provider appointments

Zac Ma is the sales director, HRO, SEA at Links InternationalMa joined Links International in the role of sales director, HRO, SEA in November 2016, after taking 4-month sabbatical leave while he was with Ascender HCM as a business development manager, team lead. In his new role, he is responsible for delivering Links International's value proposition to the market place and helping potential clients discover solutions that could help elevate their roles and drive effective HR transformation for their organisation. Ma is based in Singapore.

Speaking to Human Resources, on his new role, Ma said: "One of my top priorities would be to develop an executable growth plan for the Asia region and achieve people and process alignment to these initiatives."

He added that this involves understanding the current business dynamics by meeting stakeholders both internally and externally in key and existing accounts; basically identifying the SWOT situation and making sure that actions are planned/taken on the right foundations to meet growth objectives.

Mahesh M returns to AdeccoMahesh returns to Adecco as a principal consultant, specialising in the engineering industry, in November 2016 after his stint at Allegis Group as an executive search consultant. Prior to that, Mahesh was with Adecco as a senior consultant in the same industry from April 2013 to September 2015. He is based in Singapore.

David Cardile joins Resource SolutionsCardile joined the company in November 2016 in the role of client service manager - APAC, from his previous role as direcrot/business development manager/strategic and operations partner/RPO/MSP - Asia Pacific at Randstad Singapore. In this new role, Cardile is responsible for leading and developing the professional recruitment delivery for Resource Solutions RPO clients. He is based in Singapore.

MD of Aspire in Asia hands over reins to Katie HolmesEmma Osborne, Asia MD of recruitment firm Aspire since June 2011, is moving on, with Katie Holmes to be responsible for Aspire's presence in Asia as regional director. Osborne has been with the Aspire Group for a total of 12 years, previously with the former PFJ.

Osborne commented on her departure: "After 12 years with Aspire and five of those spent in Singapore, I'm so pleased to be able to leave on such a high, knowing that the wonderful team in Asia are set on course for a stellar future ahead. I am looking forward to watching them soar in the years to come and will be cheering them on from afar! "

"As for me, I will be taking the opportunity to reset and have a break before repurposing all the skills and experience I have gained whilst working for Aspire. That way, I can attack my next adventure with the gusto it will surely require! I hope my next role will be as enjoyable and fulfilling as this one has been."

Katie Holmes, based in Hong Kong, has been with the Group for six years, including roles in London. Under her leadership, Aspire in Singapore will be co-managed by Alycia Graemer, head of practice, April Shepherd, head of practice, and Jason Sillence, head of operations.

Paul Farrer, chairman, commented: "Aspire has developed an enviable client roster and has ambitious plans for continued growth in Asia."

 

New appointments at Mercer

Nelson Lucena has been appointed as the new growth markets health delivery leaderIn this new role, he is based in Singapore. Lucena brings to Mercer's operation more than 15 years of experience. The new role sees him leading the delivery and execution of the Mercer's service delivery platform to its clients, jointly executing the implementation of the Growth Markets Employee Health & Benefits platform, and working with the business in transforming operations as Mercer looks to further invest in this fast growing business.

Sophia Van has been appointed as the new growth markets technology leaderVan brings to Mercer more than 12 years of experience in this new era focusing on big data, digitisation, smart analytics and business intelligence. Van is very well connected to the innovation labs within the industry and beyond and in fact has tested various innovations in the health space recently. She is based in Singapore.

Neil Narale has been appointed as the country business leader, health for SingaporeNarale has been in Mercer since 2003 and started out as an actuary and consultant in the Toronto retirement business and became the GOSS retirement leader in 2011. In 2013, Narale relocated to Singapore as ASEAN retirement land he took on the Asia retirement leader role in 2015.  Narale has extensive experience helping multinational corporations manage their benefit plans in Asia and is working closely with Mercer's clients to introduce and transform health and wellness in the workplace.

Athia Tahzeeb is rewards consultant at MercerA professional with 9 years of experience in both strategy design and hands-on operations, Tahzeeb joined the company in the role of rewards consultant in November 2016. Prior to that she was the regional manager (Asia Pacific and Japan) - compensation at HP. Tahzeeb specialises in strategic HR, total rewards, compensation, talent management, and more. She is based in India.

EY welcomes Joanne Wong to its teamWong joined the company in November 2016 in the role of manager, Asia Pacific - cross border travel support, from her previous role as international relocaioint and immigration specialist at Aries. In her new role, she acts as a consultant who works closely with EY's clients on planning cross border engagements to ensure that tax and immigration implications are identified and properly managed. She is based in Hong Kong.

Joyce Tam is the associate director at Betterment AsiaTam took on the role in October 2016 from her previous role as associare director at Comrise where she specialsied in searching for corporate function professionals woth a focus on himan resources management, accounting and finance and general management areas. Prior to that she was a manager at actionDirect Search Limited. Tam is based in Hong Kong.

Fareez Mansur is the chief executive officer at Quarks Consulting GroupMansur took on the additional role of CEO of the Quarks Consulting Group in December 2016 while continuing to manage FSM Knowledge Hub which he founded in November 2015. Prior to that, Mansur has had experience in various senior roles including general manager  at Seekers Pro Network, and program director at IBN International. He is based in Malaysia.

Appointments at Robert Walters

Marie Lee is promoted by Robert WaltersLee was promoted in October 2016 to the role of manager, sales and marketing - industrial, from her previous role as principal consultant - industrial. She is a seasoned recruiter specialising in sales and marketing roles in Malaysia. In her new role, Lee and her team are focusing on recruiting top sales and marketing ralent for both local and multinational companies. She is based in Malaysia.

Mandy Law joins Robert Walter's consulting teamLaw joined Robert Walters in the role of consultant - HR division from her previous role as senior regional consultant - HR & training specialisation at HRnet One. Law is best known for her skills in sourcing, recruiting, talent management, human resources and HR consulting and is based in Hong Kong.

Optymyze appoints Rohit Choksi as sales director, APAC Effective November 2016, Choksi has been appointed as sales director, APAC to drive growth across the region. Responsible for leading sales effort, in this role, Choksi leverages more than two decades of experience in direct and indirect channel sales for IT software, infrastructure, and professional and management services, selling complex enterprise technologies to a wide range of industry verticals. In addition, he has built large, successful sales teams, while being instrumental in developing three global organisations in APAC, generating multi-million dollar revenues. He is based in Australia.

Ken Takai is managing partner at icareer partners Takai took on the role at icareer partners in October 2016 from his previous role as business director - corporate accounts at Hays Specialist Recruitment Japan. Takai is a seasoned business manager and has demonstrated professionalism and skills in launching new businesses and turning under performing businesses around. He is based in Japan.
