Final stretch of Circle Line stations to open from 12 July, closing the loop for shorter trips and transfers

The completion of Circle Line Stage 6 will link HarbourFront to Marina Bay, facilitating direct journeys and expecting to save around 10 minutes on trips such as from Telok Blangah to Marina Bay.

Singapore’s Circle Line will be completed in July 2026, linking HarbourFront to Marina Bay through three new stations: Keppel, Cantonment, and Prince Edward Road.

According to a media release by the Land Transport of Authority (LTA), the opening of Circle Line Stage 6 completes the orbital line, which will span 39km across 33 stations. This is said to include 12 interchange stations, connecting with the North-South, East-West, Northeast, Downtownand Thomson-East Coast lines.

For commuters, the main change is more direct travel across parts of the rail network. Journeys between western areas such as Pasir Panjang and Kent Ridge, the Central Business District and Marina Bay, and eastern areas such as Paya Lebar and Mountbatten are expected to become more convenient.

Today, a commuter travelling from Telok Blangah to Marina Bay has to transfer between the Circle Line, Northeast Line and North-South Line. Once the Circle Line is completed, the same trip can be made on a single train ride with no transfers, saving around 10 minutes.

The completed line is also expected to improve access to employment areas, residential neighbourhoods, and lifestyle destinations, while adding more connectivity across the MRT network.

Before passenger service commences, commuters will be able to preview the new stretch on 4 July 2026, with free travel between the three new stations from 9:30am to 9:00pm. The new stations will then open for regular passenger service on 12 July 2026.
