Residents in affected areas are urged to stay alert for heavy and accumulated rainfall, which could trigger flash floods and runoff, particularly in foothill areas, near waterways, and in low-lying communities.
Thailand is expected to see increased rainfall from 29 June to 3 July 2026 (Monday to Friday), with "heavy" to "very heavy" rain forecast in some areas, particularly in the eastern region and the western side of the southern region.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather conditions are being influenced by a monsoon trough moving across the northern and upper northeastern regions, together with a stronger southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
People in affected areas are advised to be alert to the risks of heavy accumulated rainfall, which may lead to flash floods and runoff, especially in foothill areas, near waterways, and in low-lying locations.
Strong wind waves are also expected in the Upper Andaman Sea during the same period. Waves are forecast to be two to three inches high, with higher waves in areas experiencing thunderstorms. In the Lower Andaman Sea and the Upper Gulf of Thailand, waves are expected to be about two metres high.
Boat operators in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the Upper Andaman Sea should remain ashore during this period.
The Meteorological Department urged the public to plan travel and daily activities carefully and to follow official weather updates.
