The fast-food chain said in a statement that the circulating content was fabricated and did not originate from its official account.
A social media post that briefly appeared online on 6 September (Sunday) and was purportedly linked to McDonald’s India has prompted discussion after it included allegations of unpaid salary by an individual claiming to be an intern.
According to India Today, the now-deleted post was attributed to an anonymous person who claimed to work as an intern for McDonald’s India and alleged that they had not received payment since December 2025. The post also included a photograph of a person identified as Amit Joshi.
McDonald’s India (West & South) has denied any connection to the post. As cited by India Today, the company said the content was not published from its official social-media account and contained discrepancies indicating that it was fabricated. It urged the public not to rely on or circulate the unverified information.
Human Resources Online has reached out to the fast food franchise for a statement and will update this story.
