Road closures and traffic diversions will be implemented in phases in the vicinities of Wan Chai North and Tin Hau from 29 June to 1 July 2026.

To facilitate the holding of the flag-raising ceremonies to mark the celebration of the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Transport Department and the Police will implement special traffic and transport arrangements in phases in Wan Chai North and Tin Hau from 29 June (Monday) to 1 July (Wednesday) 2026.


From 9.30am to 12.30pm on 29 June

Road closures:

  • Expo Drive
  • Expo Drive East outside Golden Bauhinia Square
  • Expo Drive Central
  • The slip road leading from the Central – Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel (CWBT) to Expo Drive

Traffic diversions:

  • Traffic from Central heading for Wan Chai will be diverted via Man Po Street, eastbound Yiu Sing Street and eastbound Lung Wo Road

Suspension and relocation of bus stops:

  • Cross-harbour (XHT) bus route Nos. 961, H2K and Citybus route No. H3

Suspension of parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area:

  • All metered parking spaces, on-street parking spaces, and pick-up/drop-off areas along Expo Drive and Expo Drive East
  • The taxi stand and fleet taxi stopping place at Expo Drive

From 0.01am on 30 June to 1pm on 1 July

Road closures:

  • Expo Drive
  • Expo Drive East outside Golden Bauhinia Square
  • Expo Drive Central
  • The slip road leading from the Central – CWBT to Expo Drive
  • Expo Drive East between Expo Drive and Hung Hing Road
  • Eastbound Lung Wo Road between the Wan Chai portal of the CWBT and Fleming Road

Traffic diversions:

  • Traffic from Central heading for Wan Chai will be diverted via Man Po Street, eastbound Yiu Sing Street and eastbound Lung Wo Road
  • Traffic along eastbound Lung Wo Road heading for Fleming Road and Hung Hing Road must turn right to southbound Lung Hop Street
  • Vehicles heading for Island Eastern Corridor will continue travelling along eastbound Lung Wo Road to enter eastbound CWBT
  • Traffic turning right from northbound Lung Hop Street can only enter eastbound CWBT via eastbound Lung Wo Road

Suspension and relocation of bus stops:

  • Cross-harbour (XHT) bus route Nos. 961, H2K and Citybus route No. H3
  • XHT bus route Nos. 104 and 900

Suspension of parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area:

  • All metered parking spaces, on-street parking spaces, and pick-up/drop-off areas along Expo Drive and Expo Drive East
  • The taxi stand and fleet taxi stopping place at Expo Drive

From 10pm on 30 June to 8am on 1 July

Suspension of parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area:

  • All metered and disabled parking spaces on Tung Lung Wo Road between Causeway Road and Lai Yin Lane

From 5.30am to 1pm on 1 July

Road closures:

  • Westbound Lung Wo Road between the Wan Chai portal of the CWBT and Fleming Road
  • Lung Tat Path

Traffic diversions:

  • Traffic along westbound Hung Hing Road heading for westbound Lung Wo Road must turn left to southbound Fleming Road, northbound Fleming Road, westbound Harbour Road, Fenwick Pier Street roundabout, westbound Fenwick Pier Street and northbound Lung Hop Street

Suspension of parking spaces and pick-up/drop-off area:

  • The cross-harbour taxi stand at Harbour Road westbound opposite Harbour Centre

From 6.15am to 8am on 1 July

Suspension and relocation of bus stops:

  • Citybus route Nos. 2, 5X, 81, XHT bus route Nos. 914 and A11

From 6.30am to 8am on 1 July

Road closures:

  • Tung Lo Wan Road between Causeway Road and Lai Yin Lane

Traffic diversions:

  • Traffic along westbound King’s Road will be diverted to westbound Causeway Road
