All 3 lanes at Tuas Second Link to close from 5am-2pm on 23 July for chemical spill exercise

Where possible, motorists are advised to avoid the Tuas Second Link when the exercise is ongoing and use the Woodlands Checkpoint during this period.

On 23 July 2025 (Wednesday), the National Environment Agency (NEA), Singapore, and the Department of Environment (DOE), Malaysia, together with several other agencies, will be holding a chemical spill emergency response exercise at the Tuas Second Link from 5:00am to 2:00pm.

According to NEA, all three Malaysia-bound lanes on the Tuas Second Link will be closed, with motorists diverted to a lane on the opposite carriageway. Expect potential delays — and advise your teams or cross-border commuters to plan ahead, follow traffic marshals’ instructions, or consider using the Woodlands Checkpoint instead.

NEA has assured motorists that the exercise is merely a simulation of an emergency response to a multi-vehicle collision along the Tuas Second Link involving trucks carrying chemicals. The public is advised not to be alarmed.
