Up the ranks: Meet Kerry's new EX lead for APMEA & Europe, Reena Talla

Part of her role involves overseeing the delivery of HR services and solutions that align with Kerry's business objectives and support the company's vision.

Kerry, a leading company in taste and nutrition for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical markets, has welcomed Reena Talla to the role of Employee Experience Service Lead (APMEA & Europe), effective March 2024.

When asked about what this new role entails, the leader tells HRO that her core responsibilities here encompass driving strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement, satisfaction, and overall employee experience across Kerry in the regions.

"Besides driving optimised processes and delivering digital and automated services, I oversee the delivery of HR services and solutions that are aligned with business objectives and support the company's vision to be the first choice for the best talent," she adds.

"My role reports directly to the Head of Global Business Services (GBS) for APMEA and Europe, giving me the opportunity to contribute to the organisation's strategic vision while cultivating a high-performance work environment."

In addition to the above, Reena was asked about what excited her the most about this new journey, as well as pressing talent areas she hopes to address as she settles into this role:

Q What excites you most as you embark on this journey?

What I find particularly invigorating as I embark on this journey is the opportunity to drive innovation and transformation within the employee experience realm. I am excited about collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to devise creative solutions that address the evolving needs and expectations of our workforce, which in turn encourage an organisational climate where employees feel esteemed, supported, and empowered to achieve their fullest potential.

Q
What is the number one talent concern in the region and/or the industry that you're looking to address?

Given the high competition for skilled professionals and the rapid evolution of skill prerequisites, developing and retaining key talent assumes paramount importance for sustained organisational success within APMEA & Europe.

Q
At the same time, what is the number one area of opportunity, in terms of talent, that you're looking to leverage?

A pivotal area of opportunity in the talent landscape is in keeping pace with a future-ready workforce. By strategically investing in initiatives that nurture diversity & inclusion, Kerry can effectively prepare our teams to meet the demands of tomorrow's dynamic marketplace. This cultivates an environment where varied perspectives thrive but also fosters an agile and adaptable workforce capable of driving innovation, staying ahead of industry trends, and helping us chart a course toward staying competitive and resilient as a company in a changing world.

Prior to joining Kerry, Reena served as the Regional Head of Human Resources (APACEME) at Vale International, a Brazilian multinational mining corporation engaged in metals and mining, where she oversaw the HR operations and strategy across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions.
