Unite and conquer: Ideas for your next team building session

This article is brought to you by Bintan Lagoon Resort.

They say that teams that play together stay together. This is not without reason. A study titled, "Impact of Team Building Exercises on Team Effectiveness" confirmed that team building exercises have positive impact on team effectiveness.

But what kind of activities work best? In an article he wrote for Forbes, Brian Scudamore, founder and CEO of O2E Brands, opined that the most successful, memorable team-building events are ones that don’t feel like a day at the office. This may not come as a surprise since 60% of employees in Singapore have admitted to having above average or high levels of work-related stress, and employees in APAC are among the most vacation deprived.

When it comes to non-office-like events, what could be better than a day at a resort?

Just a direct 75-minute ferry service from Singapore, Bintan Lagoon Resort (BLR) offers the Unite and Conquer package designed to offer great value for companies in search of relaxing venues in the sun to conduct fun, spirited activities. The package includes ferry tickets, accommodation, meals and a half-day team building session as well as complimentary Wi-Fi access for all guests.

Companies can enjoy a field day of activities to choose from in a choice of indoor or outdoor settings. A wide range of fun team building activities is available for companies to achieve corporate objectives while providing physical and mental challenges to participants. BLR’s team of planners are on hand to incorporate corporate brand messages into each task or activity with the overall aim of ensuring that participants leave with lasting positive experiences and an invigorated passion for the company’s business.

Planners can choose activities such as doughnut eating challenge, beach tug of war, water balloon relay, sack race, wooden plan race, hole in my bucket, spoon & string relay and many more. For more physical challenges, the professional facilitators at the Adventure Training Centre situated on the Resort can tailor activities of various intensity levels to foster leadership, team spirit and innovativeness for groups.

The package starts from a weekday rate of IDR 2,047,500/S$195 nett per person (twin occupancy) and covers:
