The office noted that the state’s financial performance had exceeded RM2.5bn in 2025. Development allocation of RM70mn and education allocation of RM136mn are among the highest in the state’s history. The post highlighted that the budget aims to provide inclusive welfare, education, employment opportunities, and modern infrastructure for a more comfortable life.

Six key focuses of Selangor Budget 2026

Building on the state’s six key focuses, iBantuan outlined the full list of benefits designed to support families, students, workers, and communities under Budget 2026.

Economic growth is a key focus, with efforts to increase state revenue and expand opportunities for entrepreneurs. Governance reforms aim to ensure that the administration remains efficient and maintains high integrity.

Education continues to be a priority, with initiatives designed to provide access from kindergarten to university. The state is also investing in arts, culture, and youth development to empower young talent and preserve Selangor’s cultural heritage. Welfare programmes are being expanded to support all citizens, while environmental sustainability remains a core concern, with plans for flood mitigation and green infrastructure projects.

Incentives and aid to support Selangorians

As further reported by iBantuan, Selangor citizens can benefit from a range of financial and social assistance measures. In addition to the help received by civil servants, police and military veterans without pensions will be given RM200 shopping vouchers. Not only that, Hajj pilgrims will see an increase in their travel incentive to RM1,500 per person.

Students also stand to benefit, with a 50% tuition subsidy at local universities for 400 students. The Selangor IPT study prize of RM5mn and the RM15mn Selangor state scholarship will ease families’ financial burdens, alongside free tuition programmes for eligible students.

Infrastructure improvements are planned, including RM130mn for road upgrades and RM55mn for a Mega Pavement project. Low-income families can access a RM3mn home improvement fund, and 3,000 new houses will be constructed near the Klang River. The state will also provide a RM1,000 death benefit to support bereaved families.

Utilities and basic needs are being addressed with free water for households earning up to RM6,000 per month and hawker equipment vouchers for small traders. Community health programmes include RM4mn for dengue prevention and anti-bullying initiatives in schools.

Other areas of focus include modern agriculture, with RM4.85mn allocated to the Agro Food Park Selangor, and cultural and entertainment programmes, including tax exemptions for religious-based events.
