The ECRL project is projected to contribute a growth of 3.8% to Malaysia's GDP by 2047.
As of February 2024, Malaysia's East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project was 62% complete with progress in each state going smoothly.
The ECRL will bridge the East coast and the West coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Spanning 665km, the network will traverse the East coast states of Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang before linking to the Klang Valley on the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
According to Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Abdul Aziz, the ECRL project is projected to contribute a growth of 3.8% to Malaysia's GDP by 2047.
