HR practitioner appointments

GIC welcomes senior vice president, HRYing Ying Chew joined GIC as the senior vice president, HR in July. She brings with her a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry; who is skilled in talent management and acquisition, performance management, succession planning and change management. Her last appointment prior to this was with J.P. Morgan as its Singapore head of human resources and regional HRBP for risk asia, executive director. Based in Singapore, she has also worked with Credit Suisse and Ministry of the Environment.

Ken Wee takes on new role with Standard Chartered BankFrom his most recent role of head of HR, commercial banking, Greater China & North Asia, and legal and compliance, Hong Kong; Ken Wee has just taken up a new role with the banking major as head of HR, corporate, commercial and institutional banking, Hong Kong. He has been with the bank for eight years, moving from China to Singapore and finally to Hong Kong, where he continues.

He brings over 20 years of experience working in regional and global roles with both public and private sector organisations. The former naval surface warfare officer turned management consultant and HR practitioner, is a firm believer in the importance of people, culture and strategy.

Vivek Mehrotra chosen to head L&D at ZomatoRestaurant search app Zomato has appointed Vivek Mehrotra as head of learning and development, based in Gurgaon, India. He moves over from Jana Small Finance Bank where he was senior vice president for learning and organisational development, based in Bengaluru, where he was responsible for conceptualisation and execution of end-to-end L&OD interventions, including leadership development.

Bigger portfolio for Ellie Argyrou as part of AbbVieBigger portfolio for Ellie Argyrou as part of AbbVie Tenured with biopharmaceutical firm Abbvie since 2017, Ellie Argyrou has moved up from her role as director of talent and development JAPAC to the role of director of talent management and development JAPAC and talent acquisition for Japan. She is a seasoned HR professional, previously with Dimension Data where she was head of talent and organisational capability Asia Pacific.

Zhen Ling Tan now HRBP for marketing SEAAZhen Ling Tan has been working with Unilever since 2011, where she started off as a hr management trainee. She then managed different industries as a HR business partner with her current assignment being the HR business partner for unilever under marketing SEAA. Based in Singapore, she graduated from Singapore Management University in 2011.


HR solutions provider appointments

Rebecca Harper expands her role at Resource SolutionsRebecca Harper has moved up to the new role of talent acquisition manager, Greater China at Resource Solutions, from her previous one as internal recruitment manager, Asia Pacific. She continues to be based in Hong Kong, and been with the recruitment consultancy for over four years, initially based in London. She comes with experience in the recruitment industry as she moved to Hong Kong five years ago to work with Profile Search & Selection, a staffing and recruiting company.

Michael Jenkins is CEO at Human Capital Leadership InstituteMichael Jenkins is CEO at Human Capital Leadership Institute Michael Jenkins, formerly the CEO of Roffey Park in the UK, has been appointed chief executive officer of Human Capital Leadership Institute (HCLI), a subsidiary of Temasek Management Services (TMS). In this role, he will be responsible for implementing the company’s vision to become the preeminent centre of excellence for leadership and human capital development. Read more on his appointment.

PeopleKey Consulting promotes Isaac KohAfter being in the role of senior consultant since 2015, Isaac Koh has recently been promoted to regional consulting team lead, Asia at PeopleKey Consulting. In this role, he heads the ACE vertical @ PeopleKey Consulting. He will be providing executive search and talent mapping services to clients within the domains of agriculture, chemical and energy. Prior to joining PeopleKey Consulting, Koh was with FOS Search for more than two years; as wel las Starhub. He is based in Singapore.

Globee GBS welcomes Cik Som SaadGlobee’s new HR director, Cik Som Saad is an HR generalist with 15 years of experience in multiple industries. Previously with Sutherland Global Services for a little under five years, where she was responsible for talent attraction and retention, manpower planning and budgeting, and end to end recruitment activities, among others. She remains based in Malaysia, where she has previously worked with AT&T Worldwide Network Services, TM Net, RHB Bank, and more.
