Sashikala Devi Gopallan announces advancement to director, branding and PR at HRDFCorporate communications and marketing expert, Sashikala Devi Gopallan, has been appointed by Malaysia's national human capital development authority, HRDF  (Human Resources Development Fund) to the new role of director - branding and public relations. Bringing close to 20 years of experience in this new role, Gopallan was director of corporate communications for HRDF since July 2015, credited with setting up the division and looking after ATL, BTL, TTL, customer service, complaints as well as regulatory - a role she describes as "excitingly busy".

Speaking to Human Resources, Gopallan explains the new role is certainly more defined than the previous one. "I've handed the baton over where it concerns BTL and regulatory assignments to other stakeholders. Calling out branding and PR as more than a passion, but rather areas of expertise, Gopallan believes that organisations can no longer afford to believe that when an advert is placed, print, online or digital, that the job is half done. The customers of today, including internal stakeholders, need to believe that whatever one is offering, it is a win all for them - even if its at the expense of the business. As such, she says: "For 2018, I hope to be doing more stakeholder engagement initiatives, including focus group activities with members of the media (across all platforms); making them a part of our decision making process.
