Excellence through people; excelling with HR

With 30 and more confirmed companies participating in the inaugural HR Excellence Awards Indonesia, here’s your opportunity to outshine competitors and emerge as the best in Indonesia!

Priya Veeriah speaks to Indonesia-based HR leader, Cicin Ruruh Winedar about the expectations of this highly anticipated award.

Q Why do you think it’s important to recognise the HR efforts and talent in Indonesia?

Human capital is one of the most critical challenges Indonesia is facing. It’s a continuous process to develop human capital that can compete on a global scale, whilst also harmonising the skill sets and passion to support industry growth.

Overcoming the challenge requires great involvement of HR practitioners. Good HR practice – starting from recruitment, training, development, to management – can create smooth transition for fresh graduates to adapt in a workplace and equip them with adequate skills.

Hence it takes not only business acumen but also empathy when it comes to managing human capital, and that is not an easy feat, something that should be highlighted.

Q Beyond the trophy, what else can HR teams gain from this award?

Recognition and appreciation is in the heart of this award, but more importantly it’s a platform for the HR community to reach bigger audiences in sharing their passion and ideas. Promoting these best practices could raise the bar in Indonesia’s human capital management. What we are currently doing with our company could be an inspiration for people out there seeking for solutions.

Q What is your advice for those looking to participate in HR Excellence Awards?

In building expertise, we must adapt and leave room for improvement. Aside to showcasing our work, getting connected with other passionate experts would strengthen our sense of purpose and eventually motivate us to do even more. Imagine being able to establish a legacy that is beneficial for you and your surroundings. Consider participating in this award as a means of contributing to advancing our nation and country.
