Where unforgettable experiences happen

This article is brought to you by Far East Hospitality.

The sunny isle of Sentosa shot into the global spotlight this year, with the much-anticipated Trump-Kim summit held on the vibrant venue. Amid the fanfare, it is easy to forget "the state of fun", as it is often called, sees its fair share of business visitors and holiday makers each year, having welcomed 19.3 million guests in FY2016/17.

Interestingly, the name Sentosa is derived from the Sanskrit term "santosha", which is reflective of peace, tranquility, contentment and satisfaction. Indeed, these elements will come together in April 2019, with the launch of three brand new properties by Far East Hospitality (FEH), Singapore's leading operator of hotels and serviced residences. FEH is an international hospitality owner and operator with a diverse portfolio of nine unique and complementary brands of hotels, serviced residences and apartment hotels, including Oasia, Quincy, Rendezvous, and more.

FEH is now bringing three new concepts to the resort island's shores: Village Hotel at Sentosa, an expansion of the Village brand; and two new brands, The Outpost Hotel at Sentosa, and The Barracks Hotel at Sentosa, located at Artillery Avenue in the Palawan area of Sentosa.

Situated near Sentosa Bridge, the properties provide a gateway to the island's key attractions, as much as the bridge connects conveniently to the mainland, about 15 minutes from the Central Business District. Each of these properties will cater to a distinct market segment through a total inventory of 839 rooms.

As aptly explained by the CEO of Far East Hospitality, Arthur Kiong, these three properties strive to cater to the "underserved" mid-tier segment, while appealing to the growing category of discerning travellers and Singapore’s robust staycation market.

Meeting the needs of today’s travellers

Whether you are planning for your next team off site or a family staycation to celebrate your parents' anniversary, Village Hotel at Sentosa promises a memorable stay for both business and leisure groups. With 606 cosy rooms on offer, decorated in sun-washed hues of nature, guests will have access to 24-hour room service, all-day dining restaurant, and gym, among others. Corporate guests will be well looked after through work desks in each room, business services such as faxing and photocopying on-site, and a total of six meeting spaces to cater for gatherings from intimate to large.

Village Hotel at Sentosa will be an ideal location for business meetings, networking events as well as company retreats thanks to the meticulously restored Events Centre heritage building and new Village Square. These provide more than 800 square metres of flexible space suitable for hosting small and mid-scale events, from corporate launches to social events, without breaking the budget. Thoughtfully crafted to reflect the charming uniqueness of its locale, the Revelry Hall at the Events Centre is a space ideal for meetings, conferences and corporate dinners.

Yet, what sets this venue apart is the "experiential" element. Corporate leisure travellers from regional and international markets, as well as Singaporeans looking for a staycation, will find group activities such as cooking, aqua-based fitness classes, outdoor movie screenings, and more. Further, the pool deck, situated on elevated ground, comes packed with unique themed-pool experiences such as the not-to-be-missed Lazy River Pool, which mimics the Amazonian rainforest: perfect after a day of team building or to celebrate as a group.

Village Hotel at Sentosa provides a rich contrast to Sentosa's image as a typically luxury high-end venue, bringing fresh new options to corporate bookers through resort-style amenities and a location at an affordable price.

Complementing the space, convenience, affordability and access of Village Hotel at Sentosa are its neighbouring havens, The Outpost Hotel and The Barracks Hotel. The Outpost Hotel, caters to young couples, typically Millennials, who prefer exclusivity, through 193 rooms. Trendy and picturesque – The Outpost Hotel promises to become the most-coveted premium getaway for couples in and around Singapore, while taking them on a journey of exploration through its colonial black and white design.

At the same time, FEH appeals to the upscale market with its third property, The Barracks Hotel. Housed in a conserved colonial building, the luxury 40-key property is perfect for mature and discerning travellers looking for an exclusive alluring getaway. Without doubt, top-management strategy meetings that bring together leaders from Australia, China, Germany, India, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States are set to benefit from this iconic offering.

With increasing visitor arrivals to Singapore each year, FEH is committed to catering to their evolving needs through these three new properties and a forward-thinking philosophy. So, if you're looking to create memorable experiences for guests and visitors – be it for business or leisure – stay tuned for the launches set to happen in phases effective April 2019.
