Up the ranks: Sapna Saxena appointed senior director of HR at Tableau APAC

Sapna Saxena has taken up the responsibility of senior director of HR at Tableau APAC, where she is leading the team of HR business partners and providing strategic HR support to the leaders and employees in the region.

Tableau is a visual analytics software company, with its APAC HQ in Singapore where Saxena will be based. As APAC is a key region for Tableau, she will be working closely with the markets to provide HR support and counsel.

Speaking exclusively to Human Resources, Saxena said: "Coming into an employee-oriented and performance-driven organisation, the people agenda will be a key focus for me.

"I will help to accelerate the retention and development of our people, drive performance and compensation management, and promote company-wide initiatives that can help bring the best out of our people."

Saxena will have teams reporting to her across APAC, while she reports to Michelle Yetman, Tableau’s executive vice president of human resources.

The team's priority for 2019 is to equip the business with the best talent and resources required to maintain and enhance the momentum.

"We will be focussing on various key areas that include attracting and managing the best talent, enhancing our compensation and benefits programme as well as continuing to prioritise diversity and inclusion - a factor that is central to Tableau, and close to my heart," Saxena affirmed.

With 20 years of HR experience, Saxena was previously director HR, APAC at PayPal for two years. Prior to that, she has held various regional HR roles in tech companies such as Telstra and Seagate Technology as well as consultancies such as Development Dimensions International.
