Faced with a sudden, temporary spike in workload that's too much for your team to handle? Maybe hiring a part-timer will help.
CareerCast's new survey has highlighted accountants, delivery truck drivers, graphic designers, and writers / authors are among the best part-time jobs this year in the US.
IT jobs such as computer programmer and network and computer systems administrator also made the list, since not all businesses can afford on-site IT professionals.
Tony Lee, publisher of CareerCast, pointed out that part-time jobs come in three forms - traditional part-time jobs, seasonal jobs, and freelance and consulting employment.
For businesses that face a typical busy time of the year, part-time hires are proving to be popular, such as accountants in demand every year before tax time, and delivery truck drivers who have no problem finding work around the holidays.
In the US, part-time employment remains high, partly due to the Affordable Care Act, which has resulted in companies cutting employee hours to get around providing health care to employees working more than 30 hours a week.
