TalentCorp Malaysia concludes 2023 Women Empowerment Month

The closing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Human Resources, YB Tuan Ts. Mustapha Sakmud.

Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp) has concluded its Women Empowerment Month (WEM) 2023 with over 6,000 women participating in 13 programmes held throughout the month.

The WEM's closing ceremony was held at the Pusat Islam Universiti Malaysia Sabah, attended by Deputy Minister of Human Resources YB Tuan Ts. Mustapha Sakmud. It was held in conjunction with the distribution of bubur lambuk to 300 Universiti Malaysia Sabah students, along with a Ramadan donation to the Rumah Amal-Kasih Kingfisher including its 30 resident children.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Mustapha Sakmud called for all stakeholders to work together in creating a more inclusive and equitable society in line with Malaysia MADANI. He commented: “TalentCorp, as a strong advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, is part of the Ministry of Human Resources’ efforts to strengthen the labour market, for a more productive and competitive workforce."

In line with this, WEM 2023 curated programmes aimed at preparing women from all backgrounds to take the next step in their lives and careers, while also celebrating the achievements of women advocates in Malaysia. The theme for the month was "be strong, be tenacious, be kind" which Thomas Mathew, Group Chief Executive Officer of TalentCorp deemed as "the aspiration, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.”

Also present at the event were Professor Datuk Dr. Kasim Hj. Mansor, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah and Mohd. Amril Mohd. Junid, Vice President of TalentCorp.
