Singapore residents aged 65 in 2025 may be living till an average of 86.6 years, according to the latest Complete Life Tables released by the Department of Statistics Singapore.
According to the data, this number is an improvement of 0.2 years from the previous year, and 0.8 years from a decade ago.

Longevity gains were recorded for both genders. In 2025, male residents aged 65 can expect to live to 84.9 years, while their female counterparts can expect to live to 88.1 years. These figures are one year and 0.8 years higher, respectively, than in 2015.
The gains were also reflected in life expectancy at birth.
Life expectancy at birth surpasses pre-pandemic levels

Life expectancy at birth for Singapore residents rose to 83.9 years in 2025, an increase of 0.2 years from 2024. The latest figure not only exceeded the pre-pandemic peak of 83.7 years in 2019 but also marked a 1.0-year improvement from 82.9 years in 2015.
The improvement was observed among both males and females. In 2025, life expectancy at birth for resident males reached 81.8 years, up 0.3 years from 2024 and 1.3 years from 80.5 years in 2015.
Meanwhile, life expectancy at birth for resident females rose to 86.0 years, an increase of 0.2 years from 2024 and 0.9 years from 85.1 years a decade ago.
More newborns projected to reach older ages
The report also found improvements in the expected survival rates of Singapore resident newborns between 2015 and 2025, with a greater proportion projected to live to older ages.

Among newborn boys, the proportion expected to be alive at age 65 increased from 89.0% in 2015 to 90.3% in 2025. The improvement was even more pronounced at age 85, where the proportion rose from 42.3% to 47.6%.
Newborn girls continued to record higher survival rates than boys. The proportion expected to be alive at age 65 increased from 93.6% to 94.4% over the same period, while the proportion expected to reach age 85 rose from 59.0% to 64.3%.
