Philippines 2027 public holidays: 4 additional non-working days included

Chinese New Year, All Souls’ Day, and Christmas Eve are among the dates set aside.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has declared 10 regular holidays, four special non-working days, one special working day, and four additional special non-working days in the Philippines for 2027.

Under Proclamation No. 1427, signed in Manila on 8 September 2026, the dates cover key national, religious and cultural occasions, giving employees and employers an early reference for planning work schedules, family activities and travel.

The 10 regular holidays are:

  • New Year's Day: 1 January (Friday)
  • Maundy Thursday: 25 March (Thursday)
  • Good Friday: 26 March (Friday)
  • Araw ng Kagitingan: 9 April (Friday)
  • Labour Day: 1 May (Saturday)
  • Independence Day: 12 June (Saturday)
  • National Heroes Day: 30 August (Monday)
  • Bonifacio Day: 30 November (Tuesday)
  • Christmas Day: 25 December (Saturday)
  • Rizal Day: 30 December (Thursday)

Meanwhile, four dates have been designated as special non-working days:

  • Ninoy Aquino Day: 21 August (Saturday)
  • All Saints' Day: 1 November (Monday)
  • Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary: 8 December (Wednesday)
  • Last Day of the Year: 31 December (Friday)

The EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary, which falls on 25 February, will be observed as a special working day.

Four additional special non-working days in 2027

The government has also designated four additional special non-working days:

  • Chinese New Year: 6 February (Saturday)
  • Black Saturday: 27 March (Saturday)
  • All Souls' Day: 2 November (Tuesday)
  • Christmas Eve: 24 December (Friday)

According to the proclamation, these additional days will give Filipinos more time to observe traditional All Saints' Day, All Souls' Day, and Christmas activities.

The government also said the move aims to strengthen family ties and promote domestic tourism.

Eid'l Fitr, and Eid'l Adha dates to be announced separately

The dates for Eid'l Fitr and Eid'l Adha will be declared separately, after the dates of the Islamic holidays have been determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar or through Islamic astronomical calculations, whichever is possible or convenient.

The early announcement gives employers and employees more time to plan their work schedules, leave arrangements and travels for 2027.
