Malaysia's Health Minister says new SOPs will be announced soon

This follows the World Health Organization's declaration that COVID-19 is no longer a public health emergency of international concern.

In a post on Tuesday (30 May 2023), Malaysia's Minister of Health Dr Zaliha Mustafa shared that the Ministry of Health is updating its standard operating procedures (SOPs), which will be announced soon.

This comes following the World Health Organization's earlier declaration that COVID-19 has become an established and ongoing health issue and is thus no longer defined as a public health emergency of international concern.

In lieu of this, Dr Zaliha has advised the public to continue practising the current SOPs and exercise safety by wearing a face mask and maintaining personal hygiene, especially for those exhibiting symptoms.
