Malaysia's EPF moves head office to Kwasa Damansara

Menara KWSP sits on a 5.2-acre plot in the township, housing the Fund's Kawasa Damansara branch along with more than 2,200 head office staff.

Malaysia's Employees Provident Fund (EPF/Kumpulan Wang Simpanan Pekerja (KWSP)) has officially moved its head office to Menara KWSP, located in Persiaran Kwasa Utama, Kwasa Damansara.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday (8 May 2023), Menara KWSP sits on a 5.2-acre plot in the township, housing the EPF Kawasa Damansara branch, surau, a gym, a clinic, and more than 1,000 parking bays for staff and guests. Currently, more than 2,200 EPF head office staff occupy the building.

According to EPF Chairman Tan Sri Ahmad Badri Mohd Zahir, this new head office is a "key landmark of Kwasa Damansara."

"The EPF is not only the first to break ground and acquire a land plot in Kwasa Damansara, but it is also set to be the catalyst for growth in this new township, located on the last significant parcel of prime land in Selangor.

"Having watched over the progress of the building and the development of Kwasa Damansara over several years, it is a pleasure to finally arrive at today’s milestone, which is the result of much deliberation, planning, and collaboration between the EPF, its wholly-owned subsidiary and master developer Kwasa Land, and project delivery partner Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB)."

As shared by EPF, Kwasa Damansara is set to be one of the greenest townships in the Klang Valley with many green buildings, initiatives, and conservation efforts to preserve as well as increase the biodiversity of the township. The 12-storey Menara KWSP was awarded the Green Building Index (GBI) platinum rating, "reflecting the EPF’s commitment to green values and sustainability."

In addition to the above, Tan Sri noted that the EPF is ramping up its ongoing outreach programmes to promote voluntary contributions to build savings while also expanding its coverage, particularly among informal sector workers such as gig workers, business owners, and the self-employed or freelancers. This will tie back to the Fund's three areas of focus: retirement income adequacy, coverage, and sustainable returns, he shared.

As at 31 December 2022, a total of 2,981 outreach programmes have been conducted throughout Malaysia, recording an increase in the number of members who made voluntary contributions by 70% to 774,980 in 2022, compared to 455,361 in 2021.
