Is this the most extravagant internship ever?

It almost sounds too good to be true - getting whisked away from Singapore to Thailand to spend a month working as an intern on a beach.

But that's exactly what the head of one marketing start-up is doing.

Instead of subjecting interns to the daily commute and the general office grind, Jon Yongfook, the head of a marketing software company in Singapore, is offering an internship which allows two young, enthusiastic interns to join him in Koh Samui for four weeks, to help him in the lead-up to the launch of a new product.

In a blog post, Yongfook outlines the internship as "the greatest startup marketing internship ever", which would require both interns to pack a suitcase and their laptop and work from January 15 at the beach.

Yongfook states he will be there to guide the interns and set deliverables, but in between working hours (only four hours per day is required, by the way) interns are free to sight-see, swim, snorkel and have fun.

"But why a beach?' you may ask? Well, having worked from the beach for almost all of the last year (except for a few necessary visits to various cities around Asia) I've found it incredibly productive," he writes.

"There's a kind of focus you can get in more remote locations, that you just can't achieve in the city with its never ending distractions."

He admits he's "not quite sure why" working at the beach has been a productive exercise for him, but he's convinced it will be the best way to get the most out of an internship "with just four weeks of focus".

Travel arrangements and some meals are taken care of, but the position is unpaid.
