Singapore's Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has in the past publicly called out at least 100 companies for discriminatory practices and even curbed employment pass privileges for some of them.
Introduced in September 2013, MOM's Fair Consideration Framework (FCF) is aimed to strengthen the local workforce through the advertisement of vacancies on the Jobs Bank, among other initiatives.
For employers, the FCF is meant to encourage firms to consider Singaporeans fairly for all jobs, and to hiring fairly through non-discriminatory and merit-based practices.
In a new infographic, HRBoss has summarised some of the key information employers need to know about HR regulations in Singapore, including details about the FCF, and how to apply for an employment pass for staff.
It is a handy reminder for employers in the nation, listing out, for example, that 14 days is the minimum number of days Singapore recruiters need to advertise job vacancies on the Jobs Bank before they can apply for an Employment Pass.
