HR practitioner appointments

NCR appoints Lee U-jin as HR Vice President for its APJ operations

Leading provider of enterprise technology for banking, retail and hospitality, NCR, has appointed Lee U-jin as HR Vice President, Asia Pacific Japan (APJ). Based in Singapore, Lee now leads the HR strategic agenda which covers 16 countries and territories across Asia and Oceania with over 10,000 employees, effective February 2020. He will be working closely with NCR’s Global HR leadership team to lead HR initiatives for the APJ region, that align to the organisation’s objectives in areas such as leadership development.

Zilingo brings on board Sonam Jain as EVP Human Resources

Singapore-headquartered technology platform Zilingo has made several senior appointments, key among which is Sonam Jain who has taken helm as Executive Vice President, Human Resources. In this Singapore-based role, Sonam has a global remit, and will be overseeing all HR activities across Zilingo's active markets.

Speaking exclusively to Human Resources Online, he said: "I will be enhancing the overall employee life cycle experience at Zilingo by leading initiatives to create a spirited culture and lay a strong development foundation for all employees. To aid company’s ambitious growth plans, I will create seamless integration frameworks for Zilingo’s acquisitions."

Additionally, he plans to work on setting up a guidance framework for all areas of HR, maintaining agility and compliance where necessary and supporting the development of consistent communication platforms suited for an expanding organisation, which currently has over 800 employees globally. He will report to Ankiti Bose, CEO and Co-founder of Zilingo.

With 15 years of experience under his belt, Sonam has led HR teams and transformed organisation cultures across geographies.

HR solutions provider appointments

Talend hires Jimmy Kwang as Regional Vice President of Sales Asia

Jimmy Kwang has been appointed Regional Vice President of Sales for Asia at cloud integration solutions provider, Talend, from January 2020. Kwang is responsible for driving regional business development and growth, including expanding Talend's partner ecosystem, and will be reporting to Stu Garrow, Senior Vice President of Sales and General Manager, APAC. 

Kwang brings more than 30 years of industry experience in developing and managing complex and dynamic business environments, from enterprise cloud adoption to big data analytics to automation to artificial intelligence and blockchain. 

Prior to joining Talend, Jimmy served as Country Manager, Data, AI, and Cloud solutions at IBM Singapore, where he developed effective go-to-market business models, drove high-performance teams, and augmented productive ecosystems. Over the last three years, he has worked alongside government agencies to create awareness of the impact of digitalisation on the future of work; and in total, Jimmy spent over 20 years with IBM.


Ana Paula Schäpers takes on new role at HCM4all

HCM4all, a Munich-based company that offers HCM software, has brought on Ana Paula Schäpers as Online Marketing Manager. In this role, effective February 2020, she will be responsible for giving the company visibility on all social media channels, communicating with its target audience by offering valuable content, and, by doing so, helping the company grow its market and generate high-quality leads and prospects.

Prior to joining HCM4all, she was most recently Manager, Customer Experience, Support & Engagement at TIMIFY, where her role included working with a CRM system to identify leads, acquire new users, engage existing ones, retain and grow sales in all French and English speaking regions, supporting some big key account clients and their IT departments in the implementation of the firm’s solutions, and more.

Schäpers holds a BA in Journalism and a Master Degree in Media and Communication.


Manjulla Sandara joins QBE Insurance as HRBP

General insurance and reinsurance provider QBE Insurance has appointed Manjulla Sandara as Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP). She is an experienced HR practitioner, skilled in negotiation, HR consulting, executive search, graduate recruitment, and technical recruiting. She moves over from INTI Education Group, where she was Senior Manager - Group HR, and has also had tenures with Hong Leong Bank Berhad, Gamuda Berhad, Standard Chartered Bank, and more.
