HR Practitioner Appointments

Michelle Hou takes up role as senior talent acquisition and onboarding managerIn a new role, Michelle Hou is now talent acquisition lead for senior executives for global banking and markets, research, securities services and global private banking at HSBC. She joined the company in September 2014, where she was previously talent acquisition lead for senior hiring across global functions for HSBC, including marketing, communications, finance, risk, strategy and planning, legal, internal audit, company secretary and sustainability. She continues to be based in Hong Kong.

Choon Hui Seow takes up new role at AmBank in MalaysiaAmBank has recently appointed Choon Hui Seow as assistant manager of strategic talent sourcing, program and project management. Based in Malaysia, Seow was previously working with RHB Banking Group as its assistant manager for organisation planning and program management (HR strategy) where he was in-charge of the maintenance and achievement of HR rankings and awards. When it comes to work, he practices the 3A's - acknowledge, adapt and ace.

Michael Wright joins Grab as head of talent acquisitionBased in Singapore, Michael Wright will be joining Grab Singapore on 18 December as its head of talent acquisition. His new role will see him reporting to Chin Yin Ong, head of people at Grab, as he embarks on a number of projects. Previously from GroupM as its head of talent acqusition (APAC), Wright has won many awards for his stellar performance and achievements. Prior to that, Wright worked with Idealpeople International in China, where he was last appointed as its chief talent officer.

Layer Informatics introduces new senior HR executiveSri Kalyani is now the senior HR executive at Layer Informatics in India. Her new role sees her responsible for coordinating HR projects, assisting recruiters in sourcing candidates and updating the database, providing administrative support to HR executives and more. She was previously from Mavensoft Technologies where she served as a HR generalist.

Henry & William appoints HR directorMy Hanh Nguyen Thi is now the HR director at hospitality firm, Henry & William. Based in Vietnam, she has previously worked with other hospitality brands such as Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts as well as Princess D'Annam Resort & Spa. During her time in Princess D'Annam Resort & Spa, she served as HR manager where she was responsible for HR, admin and public relations.

 

HR Solutions Provider Appointments

Ken Brown takes up division leader role at Willis Towers WatsonWillis Towers Watson has appointed Ken Brown as division leader for South Asia and Emerging Markets in its insurance consulting and technology business across Asia Pacific, a newly-created role. Based in Singapore, his remit includes leading business operations in Australia, Korea and Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia), and also developing a market strategy for emerging markets, such as Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines. He worked with Gow-Gates Group previously.

His appointment follows two other important recent appointments, those of Rob Speers and Vincent Yu who both joined as senior consultants, based in Hong Kong.

Lee Hoon Tan is brought on board as deputy director at NTUJoining Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as deputy director, Lee Hoon Tan becomes part of the management team for the College of Professional & Continuing Education, setting direction and strategic thrust to provide education to working adults and retirees. This in line with Singapore's SkillsFuture movement to update, upgrade and upskill the workforce. She was previously area manager at ErgoFloor, responsible for sales, marketing and distribution, while based in Singapore.

Jeff Cheah joins Talent Intelligence (previously Soft Skills Malaysia)Joining the competency training and consulting services organisation, Jeff Cheah is lead facilitator and coach based in Kuala Lumpur. He has more than 12 years of experience in the industry, with his assignments being with TriAset, Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching, JMC Coach Mastery, and most recently NBO Leadership.

eXeSearch appoints Augustine Tan as principal consultantAugustine Tan has been hired as principal consultant at eXeSearch, a recruitment agency based in Singapore. He was with Right Management in his previous assignment for more than ten years, in the role of senior consultant and executive coach. His expertise lies in life skills coaching, including leadership coaching, mid-life transition coaching, and parenting coaching.

Hays strengthens insurance recruiting team with Raymong Cheung's promotionRaymond Cheung, based in Hong Kong, has been promoted to section manager at Hays Insurance, up from senior consultant. As a specialist within insurance, he searches for the most qualified professionals within the industry, including top-tier insurance, reinsurance, broker firms and pension providers within the region. Some of the current openings he is recruiting for include: head of business development for a pension provider; sales director for a multinational medical company; and bancassurance manager  for an international bank.

Morgan McKinley secures the support of Scott Adams in salesSpecialising in identifying, developing and harnessing opportunities to drive sales beyond the normal capacity working closely with the APAC wide operational teams, Scott Adams will also be responsible for expanding the recruitment consultancy's projects and outsourcing division M3S within the Asia region. The M3S brand offers RPO, MSP, talent pooling, and emerging talent recruitment solutions to clients in the financial services, professional services and commerce and industry sectors. He joins Morgan McKinley as account director APAC relocating to Singapore, and was previously national account manager for Kelly Services in Sydney.

Satya Radjasa promoted to Mercer country CEO in IndonesiaMoving from  his previous role as country leader of consulting and talent information solution at Mercer, Satya Radjasa will soon be its country chief executive officer in Indonesia. He will be strengthening the presence of Mercer in Indonesia market by leveraging the full suite of services across Mercer's Health - Wealth - Spectrum. Also, he will be responsible for driving go-to market activities and strategic planning of Indonesia office, as well as the overall team leadership to all business unit country leaders within Mercer Indonesia.

GoBear welcomes senior traffic acquisition managerGlenise Lim has recently joined GoBear as its senior traffic acquisition manager. Here, she will be working on the digital strategy for the GoBear network in the region. She will also be seen driving acquisition and performance marketing through effective and efficient digital channels. As part of the regional team, Glenise will also be responsible for identifying and implementing the best practices and localisation for individual market. She was previously Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts as its CRM, social nedia and digital marketing. She is based in Singapore.
