The two temporary support measures introduced earlier this year will end on 16 July and 30 July 2026 respectively.
The Inter-departmental Task Force on Monitoring Fuel Supply (the Task Force) has announced that the temporary toll waiver and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) fuel subsidy for commercial vehicles will end as scheduled following a two-month implementation period.
The support measures will expire according to the following timetable:
- Toll waiver: 11:59pm on 16 July 2026
- LPG fuel subsidy: 11:59pm on 30 July 2026
Starting from 0:00am on 17 July, commercial vehicles using government-tolled tunnels and the Tsing Sha Control Area will be required to resume paying normal tolls. Existing payment methods and time limits remain unchanged.
In addition, the LPG fuel subsidy for local passenger transport commercial vehicles will cease at 0.00am on 31 July. Thereafter, LPG prices will be subject to the prevailing retail prices set by oil companies.
The Task Force was established earlier this year and introduced the two temporary support measures to help affected industries cope with rising fuel costs and alleviate short-term operating pressures.
According to the Government, both measures were intended as time-limited relief arrangements in response to market conditions and fuel price fluctuations.
The Task Force said it will continue to closely monitor developments in the Middle East, as well as fuel supply and price trends, to ensure the stability of Hong Kong's energy supply.
