Hong Kong ranks among the top 3 in global wealth, with the average wealth per adult reaching 4.7mn

Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan have also made it to the top 25.

UBS has released the latest Global Wealth Report 2025, showing that the average wealth per adult in Hong Kong reached US$601,195 in 2024, equivalent to approximately HK$4.719mn, ranking third globally, following Switzerland and the United States.

The report showed that global wealth grew by 4.6% in 2024, building on a 4.2% increase in 2023 and continuing a consistent upward trend.

However, the growth was unevenly distributed, with North America experiencing the most significant gains, accounting for over 11% of the total increase. Contributing factors to this growth included a stable US dollar and strong financial markets.

In contrast, Asia Pacific (APAC) as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) lagged, with growth rates of below 3% and less than 0.5% respectively.

Notably, South Korea saw one of the largest increases in average wealth, with growth rates in local currency reaching double digits.

The US, Mainland China, and France had the highest number of dollar millionaires, with the US accounting for almost 40% of global millionaires.
