Girnar Care implements 10-day period leave for female staff, among other new benefits

Girnar Care has introduced a new benefits policy for its workforce in a bid to strengthen its employee-centric work culture during the pandemic.

According to a press statement, the uniquely designed Girnar Care Policy includes the following:

  • Period leaves for women to build equity at work
  • Leaves for new fathers and newly married couples
  • Mandatory yearly leave

This is in line with the company's aim to inculcate a healthier work environment to align work-life balance among employees.

One period leave a month up to a maximum of ten annually

On the topic of period leave, the company now allows female employees to take one period leave a month up to a maximum of ten annually. This initiative is a step towards fostering trust and building a culture of acceptance for women’s biological needs.

To further support the women in its workforce, Girnar Care has also installed sanitary pad vending machines on the premises.

An extra day off every week for new fathers and newly married couples

To help strengthen the bond of trust and give a little more personal time to new fathers and newly married couples, the company has also announced an extra day off every week for three months.

Employees enabled to take leave for a week twice a year

Further, the mandatory leave policy will enable an employee to schedule and take leave at least for a week or five consecutive workdays twice a year.

Commenting on newly introduced leave policies, Muzaffar U Zaman, CEO Girnar Care, said: "2020 has been a difficult time but we have learned how to tackle the situation and how to ensure we live up to every employee’s expectation. We strive to provide the best to our employees and the fundamental purpose of our latest policy is to develop an inclusive work culture and promote a growth-oriented environment within the premises. Employees need to take regular breaks away from work demands for their wellbeing and our supportive policies encourage them to focus on their health and happiness."

Apart from these, Girnar Care also provides financial support to its workforce through a personal loan policy for employees at the lowest interest rate which helps them to deal with emergency financial burdens. It also provides medical coverage for the employee and his family up to Rs three lakhs through a medical insurance plan.
