foodpanda implements new benefits for employees

foodpanda, the on-demand international food delivery service, has recently implemented new employee benefits for 2019.

According to a media release, the benefits includes two additional parental leaves, as follows:

  • Paid paternity leave - As of 2019, new fathers at foodpanda Malaysia will be entitled to one month of paid paternity leave.
  • Paid adoption leave - Employees in Malaysia who adopt a child under the age of five will have access to both paid maternity (90 days) and paternity (30 days) leave.

Sayantan Das, Managing Director, foodpanda Malaysia, said: "foodpanda acknowledges the importance of parents spending quality time to bond with their child. We believe that it is important for both parents to play an active role in the early stages of their child's life."

Apart from that, the foodpanda rider fleet will also be entitled to a new insurance policy, effective 1 March 2019. All active riders will be fully covered up to RM20,000, 24 hours a day. The extensive insurance covers individuals from injuries and accidents, permanent disabilities as well as death.

These new employee benefits are in line with the foodpanda's continued commitment to bring the best employee experience and creating a better working culture within the organisation.
