Do your relocated employees have an incentive to return?

In today's increasingly mobile world, HR professionals find themselves facing the need to plan competitive packages for relocated staff more frequently.

However, complex considerations including the need to ease the shock of transition, legal requirements of each country and the internal equity balance between packages across the countries of origin and relocation, present a complicated web of questions which HR leaders need to answer.

Thomas A. Farmer, the director of Asia rewards at NXP Semiconductors, will be a round table host to facilitate the discussion on this topic at Benefits Asia Interactive 2014.

"When planning a compensation and benefits strategy for relocated employees, the biggest question is will they return?" he says.

"Related to this are the questions of whether the employee should remain on their home country compensation system or placed on a simpler local (or local plus) package."

Other choices faced by employers include the selection of home versus host medical insurance, he adds.
